PBR Michigan Spotlight Game: Detroit Western vs Detroit Renaissance

Detroit Western Cowboys have asserted their dominance in the Detroit Public School League since 2008. Western has gone on a prestigious run, winning 8 consecutive city titles.

Western had not lost a game in the DPSL since 2008.

Detroit Renaissance Phoenix ran their 2017 ace pitcher Daniel Little III to the mound to battle Western's 2017 RHP Miguel Ambriz.

Both pitchers dominated the opposing lineups.

Ambriz retired the first 9 Rennaissance hitters with 7 strikeouts prior to allowing a hit.

Little III opened the fourth inning with a leadoff drag bunt placed perfectly down the third base line that he legged out for a single. Little III was advanced on 2017 Christian Jordan's  6-3 groundout. Unsigned senior Caleb Jackson then drove in Little III, who scored the games first run.

Western responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the 6th inning.

2019 Christian Guiterrez earned a base on balls and moved advanced to second when 2018 Gianni Cuevas singled through the 4-3 hole. Unsigned senior Jessy Hernandez hit a line drive to center scoring Gutierrez knotting the score up at 1-1 at the end of the 6th.

Jackson led off the top of the 7th inning with a single to right field, and stole both 2nd and 3rd base. 2018 Brian Jackson hit a single up the middle scoring Jackson which proved to be the game winning run.
