Joshua Rehwaldt

Josh Rehwaldt, 1B/RHP, Apple Valley, Class of 2015

PBR: Why did you choose the University of Sioux Falls?

REHWALDT: I chose the University of Sioux Falls because I liked the campus because it is small and I have developed a good relationship with the coaching staff.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

REHWALDT: I was also considering Hamline University, DCTC, and Winona State.

PBR: Where did they first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?

REHWALDT: They first saw me at a tournament in New Ulm.  They contacted me a few weeks later and our relationship developed from that point on.

PBR: What role do you expect to play your first year on campus?

REHWALDT: I am going to come in and work hard so that when my opportunity arises I will be ready to play.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

REHWALDT: The person who has had the biggest impact on me is my dad.  He has always supported me and helped me improve over the several years I have played baseball.

PBR: What have you worked on/improved since last year?

REHWALDT: I have worked on my fielding and quickness at first base.  I have also been working on my pitching mechanics which have improved greatly over the past year.  My hitting has improved also as I have worked on hitting the ball to all parts of the field with power.

PBR: Who is the toughest player that you have faced in Minnesota?

REHWALDT: The toughest player I have faced in Minnesota would have to be Sean Hjelle.

PBR: What are your thoughts on the recruiting process? Any advice for future players in your position.

REHWALDT: Always play your hardest and attend showcases and then coaches will notice you.  Never give up; sooner or later your opportunity will come.
