Pennridge 7, Hatboro-Horsham 3

Danny LongThe visiting Rams brought the 4A #12 Hatters back to the pack in the ultra-competitive SOL Continental, as four teams now sit within a game of first place with eight days remaining in the regular season. Hatboro-Horsham climbed into the PBR rankings on the strength of a pitching staff that allowed four total runs during a seven-game winning streak in the division. However, Pennridge applied constant pressure throughout the game, scoring in each of the first six innings in this contest.

It was a team effort for the Rams, as seven of the nine starters tallied at least one Joe Molettierehit, with 2015 2B David Tatoian and 2014 DH Evan Tice notching two apiece. Single runs in the first three innings were followed by a two-spot in the fourth, another single tally in the fifth, and then 2016 3B Danny Long (top right) launched a no-doubter home run to left field in the sixth to cap his team's scoring.

The beneficiary of the Rams offensive output was 2015 RHP Joe Molettiere (middle right). Making just his second start of the spring following a pre-season injury, Molettiere worked four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and three walks against four strikeouts.

Kevin BarronHatboro-Horsham mounted a late rally, started by a towering home run to left field from 2015 IF Kevin Barron (bottom right) in the bottom of the sixth. The Hatters pushed two more runs across in the seventh before succumbing with the tying run (in the person of Barron) on deck.
