FREDERICKSBURG, TX – In what would turn out to be a game that was decided early on, the matchup between the Fredericksburg High School Battlin’ Billies and the Boerne High School Greyhounds was hard-fought.

Fredericksburg sent 2017 RHP Remington Neffendorf (Vernon JC commit) to the mound and Boerne countered with 2018 RHP Jake Chapman.

Fredericksburg broke into the runs column in the second inning when senior first-baseman Will Flannery led off with a double down the left-field line. Flannery advanced to third base and was able to score on an RBI-single by junior shortstop T.J. Tomlinson. Tomlinson powered a hard ground ball through the infield, then made an aggressive turn at first, stretching the single to a double. Fredericksburg plated another run when junior catcher Daylon Nebgen smoked a hard ground ball that brought Tomlinson home.

Aside from two runs allowed in the second inning, Chapman pitched well, scattering eight hits, two walks, and striking out three. Neffendorf threw a lights out complete-game, yielding only two hits to earn the 2-0 victory.
