Team Wisconsin 14U: Game Four Recap

From July 25th to July 30th, the Prep Baseball Report staff will run the PBR Junior Future Games at the state-of-the-art LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Georgia.
The 10th Annual Invitation-Only event will feature the best identified 2027-2028 prospects from across the PBR Coverage Area in a five-day event at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA. Participants will be given the unique opportunity of competing against other top-level players while representing their respective state in a high-level atmosphere.
This event will run in conjunction with the PBR Future Games. The Future Games features the top uncommitted players in the Class of 2025 and 2026 from across the Prep Baseball Report’s 40+ state coverage area. It is one of the most highly recruited events of the summer and attracts more than 300 college coaches from across the country each year.
This one-of-a-kind event will include individual workouts and a 4-game guarantee with single elimination bracket play to determine a champion in each age group.

GAME FOUR: TEAM WISCONSIN VS TEAM PNW
Team Wisconsin ran into a hot squad in Team PNW on Sunday morning, dropping their last game of the weekend, 11-0. Despite the final score, there were multiple standouts on Team Wisconsin who performed at a high level in Sunday’s matchup in Georgia.
It started with RHP/OF Ira Hilbelink (Cedar Grove-Belgium, 2027), who got the start on the mound. Hilbelink worked in the strike zone throughout, sitting between 76-78 mph with the fastball. He mixed in a changeup that froze hitters and provided swings and misses, too.
LHP/OF Mason Robertson (Martin Luther, 2027), featuring some of the best arm strength within the 2027 class, showed an upside look on the bump in relief of Hilbelink. The left-hander reached 81 mph with the fastball, sitting in the upper-70s and low-80s in his one inning appearance. In addition to his first pitch, Robertson displayed a comfortable feel for his slider and curveball to keep hitters guessing.
Robertson also had one of two hits for Team Wisconsin at the plate, slapping a single up-the-middle to attempt to spark a rally.
C Jack Spielmann (Milton, 2027) had a large presence in Team Wisconsin’s order as a powerful left-handed bat, as he finished 1-for-1 on the day with an infield single. His athleticism and present strength make him an intriguing follow for the rest of his prep career, as he finished with 4-for-6 on the weekend, good for a .667 BA.
The Team PNW offense could not be shut down on Sunday, as they put together nine hits and six walks, good for 11 runs in four innings of play.
Team Wisconsin had multiple standout performers throughout the weekend, within gameplay and the workout portion of the PBR Junior Future Games. The PBR Wisconsin staff is excited to be a part of and follow the journey of these 2027 prospects in their prep careers, as this weekend was just the tip of the iceberg in talent throughout the incoming freshmen class in the Badger State.
