Q&A with Preseason All-State Participant: Mitch Menard

The High School season officially kicked off on Monday under a blanket of snow.  Prep Baseball Report will kick it's spring off with the Preseason All State Showcase event from February 22nd now to be held on March 1st at Slammers South. There is still time to request an invite to this event.  Over the course of this extra week we will showcase participants at this year's event. Continuing our look is, Mitch Menard, 2016, 6-foot-0, 175 pound, OF/LHP from D'Evelyn High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:

Menard:  I am consistent, smart, and quick.

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school?

Menard:  I would like to play for Air Force Academy.

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?

Menard:  I am positive, energetic, and focused.

PBR:  What does your off-season preparation look like this year compared to you freshman year?

Menard:  Freshman year I did not take off season very seriously but now I work harder and I am more committed to training.

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?

Menard:  Play every play like it is your last.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?

Menard:  I step in the box with my right foot first then my left scratching the dirt with my left foot when I get ready.

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This Season:  My team is going to win league, have an ERA of less than 2, and have 1.000 fielding percentage

Two Years:  I want to play baseball in college to help earn my degree.

Four Years: I want to be an impact player on the team that I am playing on in college
