The 2017 high school season yielded many stellar individual performances across all corners of Florida. But one player stood above the rest:

2017 LHP Logan Allen

Allen, a senior left-handed pitcher from University (Orange City) HS, delivered a statistically dominant season while helping lead his team to the the state title game behind his no-hitter in the semi-finals.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Allen is committed to Florida International University and was just recently drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 16th Round with the 488th Overall pick in the 2017 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.

Logan Allen's all-around performance has earned him the 2017 Prep Baseball Report Florida Player of the Year honors. 

Allen edged out a highly competitive field of candidates, selected by Florida Scouting Director Doug Freeman and his team of area scouts who covered the season throughout the spring. Player of the Year nominations are provided by high school coaches across the state. Player of the Year criteria includes, but not limited to, on-field production and positive character qualities that represent the state.
