2012's Starting to Come off Board



 

Jordan Striegel, P/MIF, New Albany HS, 2012: Striegel is ranked as the 9th best prospect in the 2012 class and will be heading to the University of Louisville in the Fall of 2012. He a 6-foot, 170 pound MIF/P and is easily one of the best two-way players in the state. On the mound he is an effortless 86 mph with his fastball. He shows a good breaking ball with the capability of throwing three pitches for a strike. Striegel?s arm action is clean, and has a smooth delivery showcasing athleticism. At the plate he shows a line-drive producing swing with good mechanics. 
Connor Hale, P/C, Brebeuf HS, 2012: Hale is a 6-foot-5-inch lanky RHP/C that has committed to the University of Notre Dame. On the mound he shows a projectable frame and quick arm. Hale?s fastball has been clocked at 90 mph by PBR and has been rumored to have touched 93 mph in his sectional game last week. He also shows a plus breaking ball at 74-76 mph. Behind the plate Hale shows a consistent 2.0 pop time. 
Andrew Wellwerts, P/IF, Hanover Central HS, 2011: Wellwerts is currently the 68th ranked prospect in the 2011 class, and will be attending Chicago State this upcoming Fall. He is 6-feet tall and 175 pounds. On the mound he shows a quick arm, producing a consistent mid-80?s fastball. He also throws two off speed pitches; a 77 mph slider and low to mid 70?s changeup. 

Zach Vandlandingham, Ft. Wayne Carroll HS: Vandlandingham has recently signed a letter-of-intent to play baseball at Goshen College. He is currently hitting .459 with 8 HRs and 46 RBI?s. 
Donnie McCutcheon, Charlestown HS: McCutcheon has committed to play baseball next fall at St. Catherine College in Kentucky.
