No. 19 Bloomington North crushes Southport

Indianapolis---Bloomington North defeated conference rival Southport last night 11-1 in five innings.  The 19th ranked Cougars dominated Southport’s pitching, with seven hitters combining for 16 hits, 10 RBI, and 11 runs.

Bloomington North scored four runs in the top of the third.  Blake Richardson and Baron Ryan both had RBI base hits, while Matt tiller drove in two off of his base hit. 

The Cougars broke the game open in the fifth putting seven runs across the plate.

Adam Cornwell and Colby Stratten both finished the game going 2-3.  Blake Richardson finished going 3-3 with 2 RBI.  Max Williams and Pete Allen each had 2 RBI each, while Matt Tiller finished the game with 3 RBI.

Allen also received the win, throwing five complete innings and striking out five Southport hitters.  

Last night’s win gave Bloomington North Head Coach Richard Hurt his 300th career victory at Bloomington North.
