Preseason Preview: Perry Meridian High School

By Phil Wade
Director of Operations, PBR Indiana

John Carpenter returns as the head coach at Perry Meridian this season.  The Falcons finished the 2012 campaign seven games above .500 with a 17-10 overall record, however struggled in conference play finishing just 3-4.  The Falcons return five starters and four pitchers in 2013, with hopes of winning both a Conference Indiana and Sectional title.

Returning for Perry Meridian is unsigned senior Jordan Tackett. Tackett is a 6-foot-1, 170 pound RHP/OF that was 84-87 mph with his fastball earlier this winter at a PBR event. Tackett was also a key contributor at the plate in 2012, hitting over .300 as a junior.

Also returning for the Falcons is senior OF/P Brendan Dudas, a strong contributor at the plate last season hitting over .300.  Fellow seniors Sawyer Mitchell (C), Dillon Douthitt (INF), and junior Collin Timmons (1B/P) will all be impact players for the Falcons in 2013.
