Michigan Insider: Fall Prospect Program - Week 3

We would like to thank all who participated in the Michigan Fall Prospect Program at Madonna University. This was an opportunity for the class of 2017, 2018 and 2019 squads to be put on college radars.

Michigan Insider: Fall Prospect Program - Week 3

Team 1

Evan Czarnecki - Showed great baseball instincts on the basepaths. Read a ball well in the dirt moving to second base later using a delayed steal to swipe 3B.

Martin Foley - Made a sportscenter type play at SS. Going in the hole sliding using a back hand prior to popping up and throwing a strike across the diamond to nail the runner at first. Also racked up multiple hits on the day.

Jacob Henard (shown below) - Consistently hit the ball hard the entire game. Crushed a RBI double to rightfield that turned the right fielder.

Kyle Jones - Showed off his strong throwing arm from RF throwing out a runner at the plate attempting to score from 2B. At the plate he singled multiple times.

Aaron Lewis - Aaron drove the ball multiple times on the day, flashing power potential with his opposite field double. Also swipe 3B reading a ball in the dirt well.

Alex Magrum - Moves well in the middle infield. Has soft hands while working through the ball. Hits to all fields. Had an RBI single to LF, followed by another to RF.

Mack Martin - Martin used a short compact swing producing line drives. Drove a ball to LF in the first game. Displayed excellent defensive ability on the mound catching a smoking hot come-backer headed straight for his face.

Sean Millspaugh - Was an absolute hit machine in game 1. He seemed to come up with a hit each at bat. Also swipe a bag on the day.

Justin Scheuer - Left-handed hitting catcher, who drove a deep RBI double to CF to change the momentum late in the game.

Cameron Carpenter - Had a productive day at the plate. Smacked a line drive up the middle for a single, and  added another driving in a run.

Pitchers

Andrew Oehmke (shown below) - FB 80-82, CB 76-77

Alex Huibregtse - FB 66-70, CB 55-60

Sean Millspaugh - FB 74-76, CB 64-66

Mack Martin - FB 72-75, CB 64-67

Alex Magrum - FB 72-74, CB 64-65

Aaron Lewis - FB 67-70, CB 60-61

Kyle Jones - FB (4-seam) 84-86, (2-seam) 82-83, SL 75-76, CB 72-74

Martin Foley - FB 68-72, CB 60-61

Team 2

Jon Killewald - Showed good poise at the plate. Drove an RBI 1B to RF.

Dominic Gallagher - Showed good pop at the plate. Ball jumped off his bat during BP and has a strong build. During his first AB in the 2nd game he crushed a towering fly over the LF fence.

Noah Miller - Was a standout on the day both with the glove and bat. He made play after play in the field. While driving the ball each at plate. Nobody stood out more than Miller. Had several singles and drove a double to LF.

Jared Ryan - Ryan played a solid OF, as well as 3B. At the plate racked up a few hits going both to LF and RF using the entire field.

Hunter Sorsen - Hunter showed a good ability to hit the ball where it was pitched. Had singles to all fields.

Deven Mahanti (shown below) - Showed above average defensive ability behind the plate. Receives the ball well with a good firm wrist. Blocks well and threw a 1.92 to 2B in game.

Pitching

Cameron Walsh - FB 70-71, 55-56 CB

Johnny Tikkanen - FB 77-79, 65-69 CB

Dawson Stier - FB 63-65, 68-69 CB

Nicholas Miller - FB 74-78, 63-67 CB

Jon Killewald - FB 66-67, 60-61 CB

Travis Carson - FB 73-75, 57-58 CB

Team 3

Brandon Cooper - Cooper showed good pop in the bat during BP driving several balls to the power alley. During game 3 he displayed it in game actions getting all of a fastball turning on it sending it over the fence with a wood bat.

Andrew Gilpin (shown below) - Gilpin played a solid 1B defensively. Received a throw from the shortstop and completed a double play by firing a kid out at 3B. He also was an RBI machine for his team but his big hit came out a one hop to the fence double to LF late in the game.

Nathan Hoffman - Shows good athleticism behind the plate moving his feet well. He threw out a runner attempting to swipe 3B.

Hunter Lay - Showed good power potential in the bat. Driving a 3B to CF.

Blake Mial - A solid switch hitter swung it well in BP. Delivered a single in game play to CF from the left side. He also turned a smooth 6-4-3 double play with Hunter Lay from SS.

Pitching

Wendel Bruton - FB 67-68, CB 58-60

Brandon Cooper - FB 77-78, CB 66-67, CH 71
