Quintin Van Ackeren
Position:
LHP/1B
 Class: 2016
 Height/Weight: 6-foot-3, 190-pounds
 High School: Papillion-LaVista South
Commitment: NW Missouri State

PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?
QUINTON: I chose Northwest because the very first time I visited I felt right at home and was very comfortable with the campus and everyone there.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
QUINTON:  UNO, Iowa Western, Central Missouri and Augustana.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
QUINTON: The first time I interacted with the coaches was when they invited me down to the campus and throw a bullpen in front of them; and ever since then we have kept in contact as I have took a couple visits since that bullpen.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
QUINTON: Yes I feel very relieved and happy to get all the prospect camps and the recruiting process off my back and being able to focus on my last year of high school baseball and preparing my team for a state championship.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
QUINTON: The interest they showed me right away and the campus and all the facilities there.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
QUINTON: My dad has been an important figure in my baseball career as he taught me most of everything I know today. Along with my dad, my high school coaches have been with me through the recruiting process and gave me advice in making a decision.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
QUINTON: The recruiting process was stressful, it was a lot of work going to different camps every weekend and reaching out to coaches and trying to make the right decision.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
QUINTON: Hopefully be in the top 5 and be in the rotation right away.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
QUINTON: Pitching the state championship as a sophomore.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
QUINTON: Two years ago it was Jake Meyers and today is Cole Stobbe. Every time these guys come to the plate I know they are always going to be a hard out and I have to be smart when pitching to them and if I make a mistake they will make me pay for it.
