The Prep Baseball Report staff have finished their C reports from Oct. 18th in Latham NY. Here is an in-depth look at the C that attended our Last Chance Showcase.

Connor Farmer, C, Schenectady HS, NY (2016)
Farmer stands 5-foot-5, 145-pounds with a small, solid build. Behind the plate he stays wide and balanced, receives soft. On his throws to second he shows a fast arm, throws from a high-3/4 slot, arm strength 74 mph, pop time 2.03-2.16 and accurate. Catch and throw type, impressed showing solid mechanics. At the plate he starts wide and open, relaxed approach, uses a knee lift on the pitch. His path to the ball is long, slightly uphill bat plane, long extension, one arm shoulder height finish with balance. Exit velocity was 76 mph.

Lorenzo Horvath, C, CBA HS,  NY (2015)
Standing 5-foot-8, 170-pounds Horvath has a solidly built lower half. Behind the dish he receives the ball smoothly, wide and large target. On his throws to second he shortens the distance to second by stepping in front of plate. His best pop time was 1.98, averaging 2.05 respectively. At the plate he uses a wide setup. On the pitch he loads back, leg lift for timing, short path to the ball, slightly inclined through the zone, extension through contact, shoulder height finish. Swing creates some roll over effect from shoulders to feet. Exit velocity was 85 mph showing fast strong hands

Patrick Lacijan, C, Ballston Spa HS, NY (2016)
Lacijan stands 5-foot-10, 160-pounds, with a frame that could hold more weight. Behind the dish he gets low and wide, soft receiver. On his throws to second he uses proper footwork, clean exchange, throws from a high-3/4 slot, arm strength 71 mph, best pop time 2.11. At the plate his setup is relaxed, and wide. On the pitch he shifts all weight back on load, short stride, short bat path to ball, mostly level through contact, long extension out in front, high finish. Exit velocity was 75 mph.
