Q&A With Indiana University of PA Commit Nate Dickey

Nate DickeyRHP/3B Nate Dickey attended his first PBR event in January of 2012 and displayed some potential sitting 80-82 off the mound. He returned to the same venue for the Preseason All-State Showcase and sat 86-87 with the same type of movement to his fastball during the duration of his bullpen session.

Dickey went on to have a solid spring and summer season, leading to his announcement yesterday that he had made his verbal commitment to play his college baseball at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

According to Dickey, "I verbally committed to IUP because I wanted to attend a larger university that is exceptionally competitive academically and in athletics." His decision certainly sits well with his parents who will have the opportunity to drive to see their son play on a regular basis.

The IUP coaching staff first saw Dickey at the PA Top Prospect Games in June and later at the Big 26 Classic in July. Dickey relates that, "The coaching staff was very honest and up front with me on what to expect as a student and player at IUP. Prep Baseball Report helped me gain confidence under pressure situations and let me know where I stand against all other recruits not only in Pennsylvania but throughout the country."

Dickey, who also quarterbacks the Central Dauphin football team, carries a 90.26%.
