The 2024 Georgia high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in mid-May inside one of Coolray Field, AdventHealth Stadium, or JI Clements Stadium at Georgia Southern University. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK

• Coach Dunfee and the Trojans finished a strong 2023 campaign with a 22-11 record and a deep playoff run to the class 3A Elite 8. In 2024, the Trojans will have a young and inexperienced team that will be looking to make another run in the playoffs. Senior Barrett Dockery will lead this young team as the backstop, and will help lead the pitching staff and be a key contributor to the offense. Juniors Aiden Goodwin and Jackson Scali will lead the starting rotation and the bullpen for the trojans. Other Juniors Ty Thompson and Brock Crutchfield will look to be key contributors in the outfield and on the offensive side. Sophomores Garrett Ross and Landon Norton will look to provide quality innings for the Trojans along with Freshmen, Brayden Stoker and Braden Little. The Trojans will open up the 2024 season on 2/13 against Christian Heritage.
