Toby Scoles, OF, No. 12 2017: Athletic build, 5-foot-11, 165-pound outfielder/left-handed pitcher.  Ran a home to first in 4.22 seconds. Arm played well from the outfield, short over the top slot, some accuracy, showed carry at 84 mph. On the mound fastball sits 79-80 mph, and hit one 82 mph.

KEY PLAYERS LOST:
Evan Maecker: Otero J.C.

STAT RAT:
The Eagles only lose 39 of 125 team innings pitched of experience from 2014

BOTTOM LINE:
Last year the Eagles were primed to make a deep 5A playoff run but lost to Grand Junction in the first game of districts 9-3. In 2015 they return a wealth of talent. Staring with No. 26 2015 and Stanford commit SS Peter McEvoy. The 6-foot-3 McEvoy hit .481 in 2014 and lead the team with 2 homeruns. As a hitter McEvoy is still coming into his own so the sky is the limit with what he can do at the plate. On the mound the Eagles have a plethora of arms to go to. No. 31 2015 Connor Deeds leads the way. In 2014 Deeds went 6-1, and in 41 IP he had 52 strikeouts. Expect No. 10 LHP 2016 Brice Johnson to be a force on the mound as well. The 6-foot-6 Johnson started to really come into his own this summer and is now bringing a mid 80's fastball to the plate with his dominating presence. 2015 OF/RHP Jesse Woody returns and hitting .391 in 2014. He will also spell innings on the mound. No 51 2015 OF Tyler Matheny and newcomer No. 12 2017 OF Toby Scoles will add depth to the lineup. Matheny brings a strong arm from the outfield. At the Preseason All-State he threw 87 mph, and has good power at the plate. 2015 INF/RHP Tucker Klein hit .311 in 2014, and 2015 catcher Riley Gregory returns as well. The Eagles have depth, and will be a team to be reckoned with in 2014.
