2014 Team Preview: Seeger High School

As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

The 2013 Seeger Patriots baseball season saw 20 wins and a perfect 14-0 record in the Wabash River Conference.  Head Coach Nate Davis and the Patriots have won 40 games over the last two years, and expectations of winning will continue as they head into the 2014 campaign.  The Patriots graduated a good group of seniors from last year's squad, but do have five players coming back with good experience this spring.  Expectations are to once again challenge for a conference and sectional title.  Coach Davis is expecting large contributions from sophomore SS/RHP Josh Orahood.  The 6-foot-5, 190 pound sophomore hit.333 last spring with an OBP of .998.  Orahood also brings back experience on the mound.  Last year as a freshman he pitched 38 innings with a total of 27 Ks.  Junior Chandler White will be a huge contributor on the mound.  Last season, the 6-foot-1 RHP finished out 8-2 with a 3.02 ERA and 55 Ks in 61.2 IP.  Senior Jake Fell, a 6-foot, 190 pound catcher who earned All-Conference honors last year, is expected to make an impact at the plate.  Last season Fell hit .364 with 3 HR and 10 2B.  Also expected to contribute offensively will be Junior IF, Cole Blessing.  Blessing finished 2013 hitting .306 with 2 HR and 4 2B.
