Prospect Spotlight: 2015 1B Connor Bacon (Hudson HS)

Connor Bacon, 1B, Hudson HS, 2015

Background

Connor is a left-handed hitting first-baseman and he certainly can kick out to the outfield if necessary. He has decided to take his talents to Chestnut Hill and play for the Boston College Eagles. His bat should fair very well at their current field. He is another player in a long line of players to go to Boston College who show tremendous power from the left side. He still has room to fill out his body as well which should lead to him staying healthy for the duration.

Scouting Report

At the plate, he sets up even with loose hand positioning. He doesn’t have a ton of movement but has a slight uphill bat plane. Connor is aggressive to the ball and shows much more feel for the pull side than the opposite side as of now. Bacon's ability to spread the field will be key for him at the next level. He is an average runner and thrower but plays the game with confidence. We should all look for him to be in the middle of the order at the next level and should be able to change the game with his bat.
