A seven run first inning propels Germantown to a 12-3 win over Saltillo in a Game three in the second round of the 5A playoffs.

Meridian CC recruit, 2017 RHP/3B Houston Parker (Saltillo), got the start on the mound for the Tigers, but only lasted one-third inning giving up six runs, while walking four and allowing two hits.

Germantown took an early lead after the first three hitters drew walks, then 2017 C Myric Welch cleared the bases with a triple. Germantown would score four more runs in the first inning increasing their lead to seven going into the second inning.

Saltillo would come back out swinging, as they would post three runs in the top of the second inning, off the bat of 2018 1B JG Wood.

Saltillo’s big inning would not be enough however, as Germantown would push one across in the fourth and four more in the fifth.

The strong offensive start seemed to be too much Saltillo to overcome, as Germantown earned a third round playoff birth against New Hope.
