Scouting Report

6-foot-1, 180 pound right handed pitched tops out in the 86-87 mph with his fastball. Ranked #16 in the 2018 Nebraska rankings has he emerged as one of the top pitching prospects out of Lincoln. Pounds the strike zone with his three pitch mix. Mechanically repeats well, arms is long and loose out front form a mid ¾ slot. 68-69 mph breaking has good tilt. 68-71 mph change up has a heavy sinking action.

PBR: Why did you choose Iowa Western Community College? 

 I chose Iowa Western because of the incredible facilities and atmosphere they had. I also know a few guys there and going there and it is close to home so it felt like the right fit for me.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

I was considering Washburn, Barton,KCK, Arkansas Pine-bluff, and UNK

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?

At the PBR Border Battle every at Iowa Western. It really developed after the Omaha tournament hosted by the Prospects and Omaha Elite. Coach Herbst talked to me quite a bit after that and we set up a visit shortly after.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
Coach Rardins passion for me as a person and a teacher of life, as well as getting me to the next level was ultimately the deciding factor for me as well it is close to home.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Both my parents, they have always believe in me and supported me in everything I have done. 

PBR: You play for the Nebraska Prospects in the fall, what has that experience been like? 

It has been an awesome experience, I have met some great players and met some new friends. It was easily one of the best decisions I've ever made playing for them and I really enjoyed the coaches as well. 
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
Basically if I can get outs and not walk a lot of people then I'll play.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Going 6 and 2/3 in state against one of the most complete teams last year in Millard West.
PBR: Who is the hardest hitter in the state to get out? 

Austin Schultz no question.
