Alexander Durand RHP/1B (Burnt Hills HS, 2016)
Durand stands 6-foot-5 271-pounds and has a big framed body. On the mound he has a quick leg lift but stays controlled over the rubber. He uses a long back arm action, brings the ball inside towards his head before releasing from a mid 3/4 slot with a fastball up to 77 mph. His focus needs to be on staying over his knee longer on finish developing a more consistent arm slot which will help with control. Catching/Hitting - He has a big bodied frame at 6-foot-5 271-pounds which helps for a big target behind the dish. He needs to work on his footwork and transfer in order to get his pop times down. He throws from a low 3/4 slot with a pop time of 2.39 arm strength at 72. At the plate he has a balanced setup, back load with hands that drop and back toe touch for timing with a long stride. His path is long, bat path is level through the zone with a shoulder height finish rolling some on his front foot.

Analysis:
Durand has the size and body of a pro wrestler at 6-foot-5, 271-pounds. He shows signs of above average strength at the plate, with endless power potential with his size. He needs a serious strength training program to help get his game to a higher level, but the raw projectable signs are there. We are excited to see him this spring, hopefully at our Feb. 15 invite only event.
