With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Upper Arlington Golden Bears

Team Name: Upper Arlington Golden Bears
Head Coach: Tom Marker
Division: I
2015 Record: 20-10
Conference Record: OCC- Central, 10-4
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/5

2016 Team Strengths:

• Starting pitching
• Defense
• Leadership

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Middle of the order pop

Coach Outlook: We'll be a lot deeper on the mound this season, but need to get production from the middle of our lineup. Our schedule is loaded and should give us the opportunity to be battle tested come tournament time.

Top Returning Players:

• Jack Hendrix, P, 2017, 6'4" 200, R/R, will compete for a spot in the rotation, threw two shutouts (New Albany and Westerville Central) as a sophomore
• Spencer Kiehl, P/OF, 2018, 5'9" 170, R/R, will compete for a spot in the rotation, had wins over Olentangy Liberty and Marysville as a freshman
• John Dible, OF/C, 2016, 5'9” 190, R/R, will hit in the middle of the lineup after hitting in the four-hole as a junior, first team All OCC in 2015
• Nick Finelli, INF, 2016, 6'1" 185, R/R, second team All OCC in 2015, hit six hole as a junior
• Brandon Horsley, OF, 2018, 5'8" 180, L/L, hit leadoff in 2015 as a freshmen, will look to man an outfield spot and hit somewhere near the top in 2016
