2016 Spring Team Preview: Western Reserve Roughriders

Team Name: Western Reserve Roughriders
Head Coach: Jeff Todd
Division: III
2015 Record: 7-16
Conference Record: Firelands, 4-10
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/5

2016 Team Strengths:

  • Strong behind the plate
  • Deep on the mound
  • Stronger on the defensive side
  • Great senior leadership

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Need to hit better with runners in scoring position

Coach Outlook: Could be a contender in our league. Must stay healthy; last year we lost four starters to injury. We need to find a lead-off hitter, but we should be better defensively.

  • Justin Studd, RHP, JR, 6’0” 175, R/R

Top Underclassmen:

  • Peyton Studd, 3B/RHP, 2020
