With the 2017 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting in Mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2017 Spring Team Preview: Huron Tigers

Team Name: Huron
Head Coach: Dan Lindsley
Division: II
2016 Record: 22-9
Conference Record: Sandusky Bay Conference, 7-1
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/4

2017 Team Strengths:

  • Speed
  • Starting Pitching
  • Leadership
  • Defense

2017 Team Weaknesses:

  • Hitting
  • Depth
  • Experience in spots

Coach Outlook: "The Tigers return 8 Seniors and are looking to stay in contention for the Sandusky Bay Conference. They have a good core group of players, but have to deal with the loss to graduation of their all-time winningest pitcher in Kyle Kovach (Malone). They should be a strong force in the SBC, but will have to play a more team game in 2017. Jared Hohler (Senior) looks to anchor their pitching staff, and they return some very good hitters (Riki Tanaka, Hohler, Conor Fortune, Jake Holsapple, Brandon Dowell). Very strong defensive team and have very good team speed."
