Micah Allen, RHP, LaSalle HS, Class of 2017

PBR: Why did you choose Ashland?

Allen: I chose Ashland because I had a great relationship with the coaches and they know what they are talking about. They have a tradition of winning and that was something I wanted to be a part of.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Allen: I was also considering Tiffin and Ohio Dominican.

PBR: Where did the Coach Schaly first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

Allen: Coach Schaly first saw me at the PBR Unsigned Senior showcase, I also sent him a video. After first making contact, we have kept close contact rather it be call or a text.

PBR: Ashland is making several new upgrades to their baseball facility. How much of a role did that play in your decision?

Allen: That made a big role because I know with the upgrades it would make me a better player.

PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team for the rest of your senior season?

Allen: I individually want to get better as a player and help our team get back to the State Championship.

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable experience?

Allen: In the summer I play for the Cincy Flames and my most memorable experience would be throwing a no-hitter to help win our pool.

PBR: What were your stats for last spring?

Allen: Last Spring I batted .356 with 22 rbi’s. As a pitcher I went 4-3 with a 2.3 era and 25 strike outs.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio?

Allen: The toughest hitter I faced would probably have to Christian Bault, I never got him to chase or swing at my pitch.
