Callaway ranked behind only 1B/RHP Zach Shannon as one of the top 2014-2015 position prospects at the Ohio Winter Top Prospect Showcase in December 2011. He showed athleticism and two-way ability with soft hands and a strong arm. His load at the plate was smooth and easy with quick hands and a slight uphill swing. A shortstop now, he may project better at third base or in the outfield. He is committed to Bowling Green on a football scholarship and had accounted for more than 7,100 yards and 69 touchdowns in his high school career.
