Impact Spotlight: Uncommitted Arm, Infielder, and Outfielder

Brandon Hall

Players seem to be committing earlier and earlier.  As the National Letter of Intent signing date of November 8 – 15, 2017 approaches, the class of 2018 players are working to solidify their plans.  In a recent Recruiting Essentials article on PBR, we addressed the number of players committed at this time, compared to the total number of players that committed to play in the 2017 class.  For the currently uncommitted, there is still time and there are teams still working to finalize their 2018-2019 rosters.

We continue to look at some of the currently uncommitted players that PBR has had the chance to evaluate.  Each of these players have video and statistical information on their profiles as well.  This week we will profile three dual position / pitchers.  Each has a chance to impact a lineup in several ways.

Connor Patterson (Providence Grove HS) has consistently gotten top hitters out on the circuit with the South Charlotte Panthers.  The body has strength present, producing fastballs up to 84, but the spin rate and the ability to get swing and miss on the fastball allows the pitch to play to a higher grade.

Nick Caldwell (Wesleyan Christian Academy) was part of a state championship team in the spring.  A chance to be a presence in the middle of an order, the 6-foot-3, 205 pound corner infielder has produced an exit velocity of 91 mph off the barrel.

Adam Dempski (Hough HS) has a mature 5-foot-10, 180 pound frame.  He has run a 6.83 sixty for PBR with an exit velocity of 89 off the barrel.  The right handed hitter has continued to show a decent feel for the barrel, punishing balls he is on time for.
