Tyler Haas, C, Eastwood HS, Class of 2018

PBR: Why did you choose Bowling Green?

Haas:  I chose BGSU because it made the most sense for me. Since being a little kid I've always wanted to be apart of their team.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Haas:  None. BGSU was my first offer.

PBR: Where did Coach Schmitz first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?

Haas:  When I was younger. They made it seem like they wanted me and that it would be a family atmosphere.

PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?

Haas:  Words can't describe the feeling.

PBR: BG is in your backyard.  How much of a role did distance play in your decision?

Haas:  Not that much. It's just another perk of being apart of it.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Falcon baseball?

Haas:  I'm a big competitor and I like to overcome adversity. Nothing is gonna be easy but my winning attitude will help me the most.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Haas:  I play for my legion team. Playing in front of college coaches and talking with them after the games.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?

Haas:  I figure that i would play my junior season then get an offer. But I wasn't expecting to get an offer an commit this early.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season?

Haas:  I hit .280.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?

Haas: Hunter Carson. Just because he threw harder then everybody else in the league. Doesn't have very good secondary pitches.
