By JD Heilmann and Dylan Hefflinger

Every week, PBR Ohio holds an interactive chat through Twitter with our followers. Our goal is to be accessible. This is your chance to take advantage of our expertise. Ask questions to JD Heilmann, Ohio Scouting Director, about the recruiting process, upcoming high school season, specific prospects, PBR events, or anything else that may be on your mind.

We would like to thank all who participated, we enjoy bringing you knowledge and expertise on players and programs in your area.

Next week, we will be answering questions on either Tuesday or Wednesday, stay tuned.

Six of the top questions from the Ask.FM Q&A session on January 11th

Thoughts on Mason this year? Hear they have a stud freshman pitcher up to 90 mph.

PBR: Mason is a team nobody will want to play. Three solid arms with UNC commit Rodney Hutchison Jr., Florida Tech commit Andy Marzheuser, and they do have a freshman arm that will surprise a lot of people. Watch out for the Comets!!!!

Is the Ernst kid overrated?

PBR: If we are talking about Nick Ernst from LaSalle, absolutely NOT. Fastball up to 89 with feel of secondary stuff and really like the way he competes.

What are your thoughts on guys who REALLY impress numbers wise (60, exit velocity, height weight) but don't quite have the skills yet. Lets say 6.50, 85 exit velo, 6-foot-2 205-pounds with an average arm?

PBR: Great question. Colleges definitely look at tools like speed, bat speed, arm strength, size, etc. But they still have to be able to play. That's why recruiting is so tough and coaches go see players multiple times.

How do you go upon emailing a college coach first? What all do you need to include in the message?

PBR: I would make the email short and sweet. Give them a brief bio, with height, weight, HS, Position, summer team, contact info and any video or just attach your PBR link to your profile.

Are there many 2017 catchers you like?

PBR: There a lot of quality catchers in the 2017 class. Some guys that come to mind are UL commit Brock Mathis, Bubba Arslanian, and Jon Quinlan to name a few.

Walsh Jesuit Vs Moeller. You get to choose pitching match-ups?

PBR: Sounds like we have a rivalry building. Would be good some good pitching match-ups like Nick Bennett vs Ryan Feltner and Ty Shoaff vs Grant Macciocchi with both having solid bullpens.
