We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio’s Winter Unsigned Senior Showcase. This was a great opportunity for unsigned senior prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories. 

In the coming weeks, we will be adding and updating profiles for each of the players in attendance, including complete analysis and video.

Adam Purdy, OF, Elida, 2015

6-foot-3, 185-pound projectable build. From the outfield he was aggressive attacking the baseball and uses a good crow hop to gain momentum. Throws from an easy high-¾ slot with 84 mph arm strength. Left-handed hitter that is spread out with good balance. Showed quick hands and little heavy on his front foot and shows a line drive stroke. Also, showed his good athleticism with 6.85 60-yard dash speed.

Antonio Miller, OF/2B, Northwest, 2015

5-foot-10, 175-pound athletic build. From the outfield he fields the ball behind him on his run through ball. Throws from a short ¾ slot with 78 mph arm strength and a solid finish. Right-handed hitter with an athletic stance. Has a short compact swing that is in and out of the zone. Registered top exit velocity of 79 mph and ran 7.19 60-yard dash.

Blake Roedersheimer, C/2B, Boone County, 2015

6-foot, 180-pound average build. From behind the plate he gets in feet in line, but needs to quicken up his exchange. Winds up a little on his throw with pop times between 2.12-2.20 and 74 mph arm strength from home to second. Switch hitter that has feel of both sides. From the left side he crouches down and gets into his legs. Has some strength in his swing and has tendency to jump at the ball. From the right sided he stands taller with high hands and a level swing through the zone. Registered top exit velocity of 78 mph and ran a 7.75 60-yard dash.

Brayden Callihan, 2B/SS, Gahanna Lincoln, 2015

6-foot, 150-pound skinny, projectable frame. From the infield he has soft hands and decent exchange with limited range. Throws from an easy ¾ slot with 73 mph arm strength across the diamond. Switch hitter with 7.22 60-yard dash speed. From the left side he starts open and gets to even. Uses leg kick to load with a short compact swing. Top exit velocity from the left was 76 mph. From the right side he has identical set up, but a little longer swing. Top exit velocity from the right side is 82 mph.

Cantyn Belmer, RHP/SS, Elgin, 2015

6-foot-5, 190-pound projectable frame. On the mound he hides the ball well at his lift making it tough for a hitter to pick up. Has an easy arm with not much effort to it or his delivery. Lands slightly closed at foot strike. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting 77-79 mph. Breaking ball at 66 mph has a big 11/5 break and really shows a feel for his changeup at 70 mph with some fade.

Chandler Dippman, 3B/2B, St. John’s Jesuit, 2015

6-foot-3, 175-pound projectable body. From the infield he shows limited range, but makes up for it with his quick, clean exchange. Throws from a high-¾ slot with top velocity of 76 across the diamond. Left-handed hitter with a good, balanced set up. Starts even and use a toe tap to trigger and lands slightly closed. Good bat path with top exit velocity of 82 mph and ran a 7.50 60-yard dash.

Charlie Prieve, RHP, Mason, 2015

6-foot-5, 195-pound projectable frame. On the mound the righty has a simple delivery that he is able to repeat. Shows good direction and does a good job getting his back side through. Throws from an easy, high-¾ slot with his fastball sitting at 71-72 mph. Breaking ball has a big break that has a tendency to slow his arm down at 56 mph. Also, has a tendency to slow his arm down on his changeup at 58-60 mph. His off speed would benefit more if he kept his arm speed the same as his fastball.

Dalton Brown, C/3B, Elgin, 2015

6-foot-1, 260-pound big, strong build. From behind the plate he has a tendency to fall off a bit on his exchange. Throws from a high-¾ slot with pop times ranging from 2.44-2.60 and showed 65 mph arm strength from home to second. Right-handed hitter with strong lower-½ and uses a slight toe tap to start his swing. Has some rhythm and looseness in his hands and shows some strength in his swing. Registered top exit velocity of 82 mph and ran a 7.81 60-yard dash.

David Hall, OF, Buckeye Valley, 2015

5-foot-9, 175-pound average build. From the outfield he has good footwork getting to the baseball. Throws from a high-¾ slot that opens up a bit with a little head whip at the end. Showed 74 mph top velocity from the outfield. Right-handed hitter with a balance stance and really keeps it simple. Doesn’t use a stride and has a short, compact swing with good rotation on his lower-½ . Has a good path with a tendency to finish high and top exit velocity of 81 mph and ran 7.93 60-yard dash.

Davis Adkins, RHP/3B, Norwalk, 2015

6-foot-1, 190-pound projectable frame. From the infield his hands are a little stiff, but makes up for it with a clean exchange. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot with 79 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that does a good job keeping his weight back and uses a toe tap to start his swing. His barrel stays in the hitting zone with a top exit velocity of 85 mph and ran a 7.75 60-yard dash. On the mound the righty showcased four pitches. Throws from a short-¾ slot with a slow tempo delivery that he is able to repeat. Fastball sits 77-80 mph with some run on it. Breaking ball has good shape and solid 11/5 break at 65-67 mph. He uses a knuckleball for his changeup at 65-67 mph with good arm speed and late action on it. Also, showcased a hard slider with late break at 68-71 mph.

Dylan Bryan, RHP/3B, Mason, 2015

6-foot-1, 176-pound solid build. From the infield he showed decent range and good exchange. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 80 mph arm strength across the infield, but need to work on his accuracy. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Starts with his hands back and has a short, quick, compact swing with a good path and high finish. Registered top exit velocity of 85 mph and ran 7.53 60-yard dash. On the mound the righty has an up tempo compact delivery. Throw from a long, high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 79-81 mph with some down angle to it. Breaking ball has a tight, late 11/5 break at 69-72 mph and showcased a hard slider at 74 mph.

Evn Mumy, RHP, Carroll, 2015

6-foot, 155-pound skinny, projectable frame. On the mound he has a simple delivery that he is able to repeat. Has a slight head tilt with good direction at foot strike. Throws from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 73-74 mph with some sink. Breaking ball has some depth and 11/5 break at 62-64 mph. Showcased a solid changeup at 66-69 mph with good arm speed.

Gage Taylor, OF, Kings, 2015

5-foot-11, 185-pound athletic build. From the outfield he really attacks the baseball and uses a good crow hop to gain momentum. Throws from a high-¾ slot with good arm action and 78 mph velocity. Left-handed hitter that starts open and steps slightly closed. Starts hands high with looseness and rhythm in his swing. Has good bat path with 81 mph exit velocity and ran a 7.15 60-yard dash.

Jacob Marvin, RHP/1B, Fairlawn, 2015

6-foot-1, 200-pound big, solid build. On the mound the righty has a quick tempo delivery that he is able to repeat. Has good direction and land on line at foot strike. His fastball from a high-¾ slot sits 75-77 mph with good run to it. Breaking ball has good shape at 64-65 mph with a 11/5 break. Shows good arm action on his changeup that he was able to throw for a strike at 69-70 mph. He also mixed in split with some tumbling action at 68 mph.

Jared Rindler, OF, Tippecanoe, 2015

5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic build. From the outfield he fields the ball in front of his body and would get more behind his throw if he came through the baseball. After he field it he throws from a high-¾ slot with 73 mph arm strength. His speed is his strength running a 6.94 60-yard dash. Right-handed hitter that starts even. He doesn’t stride to stay balanced and has good rhythm in his hands. Has an uphill swing with top exit velocity of 76 mph.

Jarod Snyder, 1B/3B, Carroll, 2015

6-foot-3, 208-pound solid, projectable build. From first base he shows good footwork around the bag and fields the ball into his body. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 71 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that stands tall and uses a leg kick to load, but needs to get his foot down on time. Has a short, compact swing with top exit velocity of 81 mph and ran a 7.69 60-yard dash.

Jaryd Murphy, 3B/RHP, Fairmont, 2015

6-foot-1, 210-pound big, solid frame. From third base he gathers the ball into his body when he fields it. Throws from a short ¾ slot with 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts slightly open. Has a simple approach with some strength in his swing and decent bat speed. Registered top exit velocity of 83 mph and ran a 7.56 60-yard dash.

Jimmy Bauer, OF/1B, Defiance, 2015

6-foot-3, 195-pound projectable frame. From the outfield uses a good crow hop and really showcased his arm with a top velocity of 84 mph from the outfield. From first base he has good footwork around the bag and a nice size target. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 78 mph arm strength across the diamond. Left-handed hitter that stand tall. Has a long stride and a little heavy on his front foot. Has a short, compact swing with some power to his pull side. Registered top exit velocity of an impressive 86 mph and ran a 7.28 60-yard dash.

Joe Sciarappa, C/3B, St. Edward, 2015

6-foot, 190-pound solid build. From behind the plate he showed good footwork and a quick release. Throws from a short ¾ slot that has tendency to fall off a bit and 78 mph arm strength. Showed pop times ranging between 2.00-2.15. Right-handed hitter with a strong lower half and strength in his swing. Uses a small stride and short compact swing with top exit velocity of 81 mph. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash.

John Shutrump, RHP, Mason, 2015

5-foot-11, 145-pound projectable frame. From the mound he is able to repeat his delivery with a simple lift and good direction at foot strike. Really able to pound the zone with all four pitches. From a high-¾ slot his fastball sits 79-81 mph with down angle to it. Breaking ball has some depth with feel at 64-65 mph. Showcased a solid changeup with good arm speed at 71 mph and also throw a good knuckleball at 58 mph with no spin and sink.

Jordan Goslee, 2B/3B, Kings, 2015

5-foot-9, 175-pound solid frame. From the infield he has soft hands and pats his glove on his exchange. Throws from a short, high-¾ slot  with 69 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts with high hands. Uses a big leg kick to keep weight back and for timing. Has some strength in his swing with top exit velocity of 85 mph and ran a 7.50 60-yard dash.

Kaleb Mahler, RHP/OF, Perrysburg, 2015

6-foot-2, 185-pound projectable frame. On the mound the righty has a quick delivery that speeds up at the end with a short stride. Throws from a short ¾ slot with fastball sitting 75-79 with good life to it. His slot changes on his breaking ball and comes more over top at 63-65 mph with a 12/6 break. Showcased a solid changeup at 66-67 mph with good arm speed.

Levi Jones, RHP/3B, West Holmes, 2015

6-foot-3, 205-pound projectable build. From the infield he projects at third with a clean exchange and throws from a short ¾ slot with 78 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter with a spread out stance. Uses a toe tap with an uphill swing but found the barrel during the batting practice session. Top exit velocity of 88 mph and ran a 7.11 60-yard dash. On the mound he really projects and could be where his future is. Simple, slow tempo delivery with good direction. Fastball sat at 82-84 mph with command. Slows down on his breaking ball at 65-67 mph with a 11/5 break. Showed a changeup at 71 mph with good arm speed, but has tendency to hang on to it too long.

Max Leigh, LHP/1B, Lebanon, 2015

6-foot-5, 205-pound projectable build. From first base he really shows good footwork around the bag and is big target. Has soft hands and good exchange. Throw from a short ¾ slot with 70 mph arm strength across the diamond. Left-handed hitter that starts open and uses a toe tap to get to even. Has loose hands and an easy uphill swing. Registered top exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. On the mound the southpaw really projects. He has quick tempo delivery and pauses at his balance point. Has good direction at foot strike and lands on his heel. His fastball sits at 66-70 mph with a breaking ball at 60-62 mph with a big, slow break. Also, showcased a changeup at 64-65 mph.

Nate Rearick, 2B/SS, Jackson, 2015

6-foot, 170-pound athletic build. From the infield he shows good range and a lot of life in his body attacking the baseball. Throws from a short ¾ slot with 79 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts way open and gets to even. Starts his hands high with a quick bat path and an uphill swing. Registered at top exit velocity of 85 mph and ran 7.08 60-yard dash.

Noah Haynes, OF, Elgin, 2015

5-foot-10, 155-pound skinny, projectable frame. From the outfield he takes too many steps after fielding the baseball and opens up a bit on his throw. He throws from a high-¾ slot with 75 mph arm strength with decent carry. Right-handed hitter that stands tall and slightly open and gets to even. Has looseness in his hands with a high finish in his swing. Registered top exit velocity of 77 mph and ran a 7.37 60-yard dash.

Ryan Bakies, RHP, Elgin, 2015

6-foot-1, 175-pound projectable build. On the mound he has a simple, repeatable delivery with some effort at the end. Throws from a high-¾ slot with fastball sitting 74-76 mph with good life and around the plate. Breaking ball has 11/5 break at 60-62 mph with good depth. Also, showcased a changeup at 69-72 mph with good arm speed and life.

Scott Simon, 3B/2B, Maumee, 2015

5-foot-10, 180-pound athletic build. From the infield he showed good range, soft hands, and a clean exchange. Throws from a easy high-¾ slot with 74 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that stands tall with high elbow. Uses a little toe-tap and some strength in his swing. Registered top exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 7.04 60-yard dash.

Sean Johnson, 3B/SS, Springfield, 2015

6-foot-1, 155-pound athletic build. From the infield he fields the ball into his body and needs to quicken up his exchange. Throws from a ¾ slot with 71 mph velocity across the diamond. Right-handed hitter with speed. Has slightly closed stance with high hands. Very quiet approach with a high finish on his swing. Registered top exit velocity of 67 mph and ran a 6.93 60-yard dash.

Tanner Hamilton, 2B/RHP, Centerville, 2015

5-foot-10, 180-pound solid frame. From the infield he showed good range and threw from an easy ¾ slot with 78 mph arm strength. Right-handed hitter that starts his hands away from his body. No stride to help him stay balance. Has good lower-½ and quick hands with top exit velocity of 88 mph and ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. On the mound he has an up tempo delivery that lands slightly closed and raps a little on the back side. Fastball from a high-¾ slot sits at 77-80 with some arm-side run. Breaking ball has late sink at 68-69 mph and showcased a good changeup at 70 mph with good life to it.
