Easley Scout Day: Catcher Reports

EADS, TN - The Easley Baseball Club continued their summer season with a PBR Scout Day at Briarcrest Christian School on Tuesday, May 30th. Close to 100 players went through the pro-style workout and there were several players that impressed at the different stations of the showcase.
Today, we will continue releasing our scouting reports from the event, with the catchers who attended the Scout Day.

CATCHER REPORTS
Lane Mauney, Pine Grove (MS), 2024
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-1, 205-pounds. Strong, durable frame
Hit: RHH. Conventional stance with slightly tighter handset Controlled load with inward rotation (no stride). Hands work well to baseball with line drive, middle of the field approach.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 81.6 mph. 313' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-74 mph. Short, quick arm action
Defense: 2.15-2.25 pop times. Solid set up behind the plate. Still developing though shows good foot work and direction on throws. Strong arm that could get a little better in time. Good body positioning with blocks and bunt coverages.
ATH: 7.53 runner in the 60. 1.74 and 4.13 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Dylan Phillips, Munford (TN), 2024
Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-1, 170-pounds. Projectable frame
Hit: RHH. Balanced stance, slightly open, with higher handset Easy load and stride with hands working directly to contact. Some loft to swing. Looks to work the middle of the field, though can pull the ball with pop if needed.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 83.9 mph. 328' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-74 mph. INF-77 mph. Quick arm action
Defense: 2.03-2.09 pop times. C: Solid set up behind the plate. Still developing though shows good foot work though slightly off balance on throws to 2B. Strong arm that should get a little better with body maturity. Good body positioning on blocks and bunt coverages. INF: Solid footwork at 1B. Good glove work with quick transfer and accuracy on throws.
ATH: 7.59 runner in the 60. 1.74 and 4.16 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Brayden Holland, Briarcrest Christian (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-11, 145-pounds. Tall, athletic build
Hit: RHH. Tall, athletic stance with slightly higher hand set. Small load yet aggressive swing. Uses a line drive approach. Big time upside as a hitter!
Power: 82 max exit velocity, averaged 76.8 mph. 266' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-73 mph. INF-74 mph. Short, quick arm action
Defense: 2.06-2.18 pop times. Strong set up with advanced footwork behind the plate. Very good direction on throws. Advanced body positioning on blocks and but coverages. Solid glovework in the infield with good range as well.
ATH: 7.82 runner in the 60. 1.78 and 4.27 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Jase Greenland, Munford (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/C
Body: 5-9, 170-pounds. Projectable frame
Hit: RHH. Tall, athletic looking stance with hands slightly inside back shoulder. Easy load and stride as hands drop into slot. Some loft to swing. Looks to pull though hands work well and can drive the ball away if needed.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 83.4 mph. 307' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-72 mph. INF-75 mph. Quick arm action
Defense: 2.16-2.20 pop times. C: Solid set up behind the plate. Still developing though shows good foot work and direction on throws. Strong arm that should get a even better with body maturity. Good body positioning on blocks and bunt coverages. INF: Developing footwork and decent range on the infield. Developing glove work with quick transfer and accuracy on throws.
ATH: 8.23 runner in the 60. 1.91 and 4.51 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Whitman Key, Center Hill (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: C/2B
Body: 5-10, 150-pounds. Lean, athletic frame
Hit: RHH. Balanced stance with slightly higher hand set. Controlled load and stride with slight leg lift. Slightly upward bat path. Works middle to pull side though hands work well and can drive the ball away.
Power: 81 max exit velocity, averaged 70.7 mph. 300' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-70 mph. INF-70 mph. Short, quick arm action.
Defense: 2.06-2.22 pop times. Strong set up with advanced footwork. Strong, quick arm on throws to 2nd. Advanced body positioning and fundamental approach to blocks and bunts.
ATH: 7.37 runner in the 60. 1.73 and 4.10 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Landon Rombaugh, Olive Branch (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-11, 155-pounds. Projectable frame
Hit: RHH. Wider, slightly open and balanced stance with a little higher hand set Controlled load and stride. Slightly upward bat path with some aggression into contact. All fields approach. Works off back leg.
Power: 83 max exit velocity, averaged 75.2 mph. 266' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-69 mph. INF-71 mph. Quick arm action
Defense: 2.03-2.15 pop times. C: Solid set up behind the plate. Still developing though shows good footwork and direction on throws. Developing arm that should get a little better with body maturity. Controlled body positioning on blocks and bunt coverages. INF: Developing footwork and range on the infield. Developing glove work with quick transfer and accuracy on throws. Arm will get stronger.
ATH: 8.13 runner in the 60.
Carter Dennison, First Assembly Christian (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Projectable frame
Hit: RHH. Balanced, athletic set up with hands already in slot. Controlled load with toe tap stride. Level bat path with middle of the field line drive approach.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 79.7 mph. 328' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-68 mph. Quick arm action
Defense: 2.03-2.09 pop times. Advance footwork behind the plate. Gritty defender with solid actions and upside. Very polished fundamentally on blocks and bunts.
ATH: 7.88 runner in the 60. 1.79 and 4.27 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
