Brady Turner
West Coast Director

On Saturday, March 9th the Prep Baseball Alberta staff hosted its first Future Games Trials of the year with the Edmonton Spring Future Games Trials at The Shop by SPMBA. It gave players the opporunity to collect updated metrics via our tech partners TrackMan.

The event also serves as an identifier and qualifier for our Select Series Events such as Future Games (2026), Jr. Future Games (2028/2029), Senior Future Games (2025), West Coast Games (2025/2026) and Best of the West (18U & 15U).

We broke down the top measurable data performers from the event with our Statistical Analysis, Hitting Data Dive and Pitching Data Dive. Now, we conclude our post-event coverage within this Quick Hits article as we provide scouting notes and video on five standouts from the event.

Miguel Tetreault 3B / SS / AHP , AB / 2025

A top 2025 infielder out of AHP Academy, Tetrault had an impressive showing on both sides of the ball. Using his athleticism and quick feet, he moved well laterally on the infield and has the ability to make those off-balance throws with his arm utility, while also reaching an 88 mph infield velocity. In the box, he showed a smooth swing from the left side, presenting a high level of barrel control and quick hands culminating in good bat-to-ball skills. He consistently elevated back up the middle and reached a max exit velocity of 90 mph. Tetrault will be a strong follow as he continues to make an impact on both sides of the ball.

Tyler Diprose C / RHP / St Albert Catholic High School, AB / 2027

The Cardinals Development Program product made a name for himself at the Edmonton Future Games Trials. With an athletic and projectable frame there is plenty to like in the 2027 C/RHP. He moved well behind the dish and got up to a 74 mph catcher velocity. The athleticism is also present at the dish with his left handed swing. The bat-to-ball is advanced for his age and he consistently worked back up the middle with one of the better rounds of the event, reaching a max exit velocity of 87.6 mph. Diprose will be one to follow as he continues to mature and add strength to his projectable frame.

Ethian Mayuk RHP / OF / Father Mercredi , AB / 2025

A 2025 two-way player out of Fort Mcmurray, Mayuk showcased well on the mound and at the plate during the Edmonton FG Trials. On the bump his fastball sat 82-84 mph with carry and stayed in the zone consistently with it. His curveball has tight and late vertical break which pairs well with his fastball. In the box he showed present bat-to-ball, working consistently in the air to the opposite field, working up to a max exit velocity of 90.9 mph. Mayuk will be someone to follow as he has the ability to make an impact on both sides of the ball.

Samuel Davis 1B / LHP / ESBC, AB / 2026

One of the more intriguing 2026s in the province is LHP/1B Samuel Davis. He has long levers and a projectable frame at 6-foot-5, 180-pounds. He runs the fastball up to 79 mph and showed the ability to locate it for strikes. He kills induced vertical break (IVB) on the sinker making it effective along with the fastball at 76-78 mph. The curveball has tight/late break that he located consistently at the bottom of the zone. He got up to 91.4 mph during BP and elevated to his pull-side gap with regularity. As Davis continues to develop and add strength to his frame, he will continue to be one of the top 2026s in the province.

Caleb Paquette SS / RHP / AHP Academy , AB / 2025

A 2025 RHP/SS out of AHP Academy, Paquette showed well on the mound with a good three pitch mix and a quick arm. His fastball sat 81-83 mph, showed the ability to locate it for strikes, and can spin it north of 2200 rpm. His changeup sits in the 75-77 mph range and has plenty of arm side run to it. The curveball sits 70-73 mph and has a sharp downward break with a spin rate at 2400+ RPM. With three velocity bands, Paquette will be a talent to watch on the mound this upcoming season as the stuff continues to develop.
