Mizuno Pitcher of the Week: Week 3

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year, we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season and for the high school coaches who nominated their players for this award.
Continuing from last year, we will also be highlighting other players from across the state in our Alabama Diamond Notes that we will release each Wednesday. Our Diamond Notes will highlight other players nominated by high school coaches that are deserving of recognition that were not named Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

Bryson Morman RHP / SS / Oak Mountain, AL / 2024Rankings StateRank: 57 / POS: 16
Morman was another prospect this week who won the Pitcher of the Week honors by a fairly wide margin after turning in a dominant outing on the mound against a top-10 club in Class 7A. In a battle of aces and facing a lineup littered some next-level prospects, the Coastal Alabama-South CC recruit fired a complete-game no-hitter en route to a 2-0 victory. On the mound, the senior worked 7 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, & 15 K on 98 pitches and was seemingly in cruise control from the jump against a talented offense. He's been a big reason why the Eagles soared up the top-10 in Class 7A and the Power 25, and should continue to be a huge piece to their pitching staff this spring. |
