Mizuno Player of the Week: Week 4

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year, we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season and for the high school coaches who nominated their players for this award.
Continuing from last year, we will also be highlighting other players from across the state in our Alabama Diamond Notes that we will release each Wednesday. Our Diamond Notes will highlight other players nominated by high school coaches that are deserving of recognition that were not named Mizuno Pitcher or Player of the Week.

Blasche has quickly evolved into one of the top two-way prospects in the state of Alabama and after a breakout campaign during his junior season in 2023, the Samford recruit and PBR Future Games alumni continues to lead the way both at the plate and on the mound for the Bucs. Making a huge impact on both sides last week, the senior right-hander posted a .556 batting average (10-for-18) offensively with three doubles, a triple, a home run, seven runs batted in, six runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base hitting in the two-hole of a talented lineup. On the mound, the right-hander was equally as impressive tossing nine innings while allowing just five hits, an earned run, and punched out 13 hitters in a relief appearance in a 15-inning thriller against Pell City. He also hit for the cycle in that contest on the offensive side, as well. |
