The Kansas high school season is nearing quickly, and we're here to cover it. Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2023 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, leading into a countdown through the official PBR Kansas Preseason Power 20 Rankings.

We’ve submitted a Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

OUTLOOK

We return three All-State players from last year's team. We have two high caliber starters in Fisher and Simkins, and two guys that are legit closers or could start if needed in Lamond and Kolterman. We are strong defensively up the middle with Simkins behind the plate, Kolterman and Lamond in the middle, and Fisher in centerfield. The top three in our lineup is as good as any team in 2-1A.

We are replacing our entire outfield. Fisher will slide in with ease as he has played there before and is a tremendous athlete, but the corners are a question mark. We are also replacing our corner infielders from last year's team which leaves some questions defensively and offensively at the bottom of the lineup.
