Shon Plack
Kansas Scouting Director

Kamden Miller (Blue Valley Northwest, 2016) is a 6-foot 195-pound left-handed pitcher.  He showed well at both the Class of 2016 Games and Top Prospect Games in August, combining for six strikeouts, a walk, a hit and one run in two innings of work.  He touched 83 mph, working at 79-81 mph.  He had command of curveball at 66-67 mph, 1-to-7 shape and a change-up at 73-74 mph, slight sink. Miller is a strike thrower that repeats his delivery with hands working with knee, tucking at balance point.  He works slightly across his body with a high three-quarters release.

Miller is one of the top uncommitted southpaws in the state.  He sports a 31 ACT and is currently taking visits to area schools this fall.  Here is deeper look inside the recruiting process for Kamden Miller.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Miller: I am interested in either Biology, Medicine, or Engineering and would like to go to a school that has strong academics. I am also interested in ROTC but it is not necessary in the college that I attend. Location is not as important in my college search.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do? Name some players that will play a key role for BV Northwest in 2016.

Miller: During my high school season, I was a reliever on varsity and started on JV. I gave up one unearned run on varsity and had a 0.7 ERA on JV. Our team lost in the second game of regionals this past season. Some people that will play a key role in this coming season are Nick Mehlin, Jack Duke, Cole Duensing, and Jack Knutson. Along with these, we have too many juniors and sophomores to mention.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Miller: My goals for this next season is to help my team make a push deep into the state tournament.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Miller: In the summer and the fall I play for the Midwest Blacksox.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Miller: No

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Miller: My unweighted GPA is 3.7 and my weighted GPA is 4.2. On my ACT I got a 31.
