6/15/16 (Top Prospect Games) - Max FB: 89, FB: 84-89, CB: 70-74, CH: 71-76
6-foot-4, 185-pound RHP with highly projectable frame, showed better pitchability than in the past, uses long arm action through a high-3/4 slot with normal effort, began his outing touching 89 mph on a few occasions and sat in the 86-88 range, velocity was 84-87 in his second inning of work, uses leverage to create downward tilt on fastball, breaking ball is more of a slider with short/late break and he threw some effective ones in the strike zone, showed a solid changeup with fading action and has confidence in the pitch, allowed two hits, walked none, and struck out three (two looking on CH, one looking on SL) in his two innings of work. Graves’ velocity and projectability make him one of the top arms available in the 2017 class. He showed improved command and feel for his secondary pitches at this event. His fastball was up to 90 mph at the 2015 PBR Future Games.
