Player Spotlight: SS Dylan Dix (Marquette, 2016)

Dylan Dix (Marquette, 2016) is a 6-foot-1 176-pound right-handed hitting shortstop.  He ran a 7.22 60 and had an exit velo of 87 mph. 

Dix is strong and athletic, he has a simple load with no wasted movement from balanced position at the plate.  He showed power to pull gap with back spin, and body stays under control during swing.  He has a middle to pull approach and ran a 4.53 home-to-first. 

On the infield, Dix has a 78 mph positional velo,  with athletic actions, and a quick catch and release.  He plays though the catch, has a high three-quarters release, makes accurate. He has quick feet and a quick exchange with hands and feet working together.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Dix: I am looking for high academics and a health and exercise science program. Truman is my top choice for that.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do? Name some players that will play a key role for Marquette in 2016.

Dix: I did okay my junior year. My statistics were: Avg- .269, OBP- .364, RBI- 7, R- 12, BB- 8. My team went 18-8 and some key players this Spring will be me, Brendan Glock, Turner Cook, Evan Stoll, and Kellan Murray.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

DIx: My goals for my senior year are .330 Avg, .400 OBP, 20 RBI, 15 R, and 8 2B.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Dix: I did play travel summer ball with the Rawlings Tigers 17U Black, but I am done playing for them and I am not playing fall ball.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Dix: I played basketball through my junior year, but I'm not playing my senior year.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Dix: My ACT is a 26 and my GPA is a 4.0 weighted.
