Quick Hitters: Queen City Corndogs Pitchers

On Saturday June 3rd PBR or North Carolina was on hand at Charlotte Latin for a Scout Day with the Queen City Corndogs. The Scout Day featured players from the 2024-2026 Grad Classes.
The workout began with pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen with Trackman collecting ball flight data. Following the pitchers, the catchers went through a defensive evaluation, then the position players took batting practice on the field with Trackman gathering ball flight information. The day concluded with infielders and outfielders going through a defensive evaluation.

Quick Hitters - Pitchers
Jay Riddle, RHP, Trinity Collegiate, 2024
Lanky 6-foot-5, 215 pounds. Long arms and legs. Level and on-line. Early to the top. High-¾ slot with some whip. Fastball up to 85.7, 2347rpm. Sink metrics with some run. Good arm speed on a splitter at 78-79, 1209rpm. Tumbling action with some depth in the hitting zone.
James Peters, RHP, Charlotte Latin, 2024
6-foot-3, 205 pounds. Fastball peaked at 80.7, 2449rpm. Cut the fastball with late action to his glove side. Slider spin up to 2233rpm.
Avery Booker, RHP, Charlotte Latin, 2025
Average build at 6-foot, 175 pounds. Long legs. Turns and coils through balance with a high leg kick. Works back to an on-line and square foot-strike. Drops into the back side as the arm plunges out of the glove. Long arm works back to an over-the-top slot. Solid run with 1:15 spin tilt at release.
Ben Bordeaux, RHP, Charlotte Catholic, 2026
Young. 5-foot-10, 145 pounds. Kick to the mid-chest. Loose, athletic hips. Works on-line with some uphill leverage from the front side. Long, athletic arm. Over-the-top slot. Fastball up to 80.9, 2301rpm. Solid ride with some run. Breaking ball at 65-70, 2218rpm. 10/4 tilt with some feel for landing it on the glove side.
Emerson Rhodes, RHP, Indian Land HS (SC), 2026
Lean and lanky at 6-foot, 160 pounds. On-line and level through the delivery, showing a feel for repeating it. Long arm swing and high-¾ slot. Some whip. Fastball at 77-79, 1935rpm. Good ride through the zone. 12:30 spin tilt at release. Change-up has solid fade, working from a similar window as the fastball at 72-74, 1209rpm.
Austin Martinez, RHP, Marvin Ridge HS, 2026
6-foot, 138 pounds. Simple leg kick with high hands. Level, lands on-line. Heavy lean to glove side as the arm works to an exaggerated over-the-top slot. Some whip. Fastball peaked at 79, 2178rpm. Heavy run to the arm side, working out of the hand, with 1:45 spin tilt at release.
