Player(s) of the Week:

PBR Nevada welcome an eventful first weekend of baseball.  Weather held off in the north, allowing for all games to be played, in all be it cool temperatures. Southern Nevada enjoyed cool and breezy conditions as well. Regardless, the first week of competition yielded some standout performances. As will be the case each Tuesday, PBR Nevada looks forward to recognizing standout performances in Northern Nevada as well as Southern Nevada eclipsing play throughout the week with its Player of the Week (POW) award.  In addition to the POW, we will highlight other notable performances.

In Northern Nevada our Player of the Week honor belongs to ’19 John Kane (OF) of Reno High School. Kane was 6-13, scoring 7 runs, including a double, triple, and 3 homeruns.  He drove in 15 in five games and won a game on the mound as well. Reno went 5-0 on the weekend, victorious by run rule in each of its five games.

Player of the Week honors in Southern Nevada go to Desert Oasis, 3B, ’19 Aaron Roberts.  Roberts hit .714 with 2 doubles, a triple and 4 homeruns, with 16 RBI.  Roberts power is noted and was a double shy of hitting for the cycle in a contest last Friday. Desert Oasis lost to Centennial in the semifinals of the Desert Oasis Kickoff Classic.
