SC Preseason All-State North: Quick Hitters - Underclass Pitchers

On Saturday January 21st PBR of South Carolina was on hand at The Winthrop Ball Park for our Preseason All-State North Event. The event featured players from the 2023-2028 grad classes.
The day started with BP on the field with Trackman collecting ball flight data followed the defensive evaluations followed by laser timed 60. Then pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen with Trackman collecting data analytics to finish the day.

Quick Hitters - Underclass Pitchers
5-11 180 pound frame with present strength. Left hander shows a controlled paced delivery with a smooth arm action and a H ¾ arm slot. Showed feel for 3 pitches for strikes, while running his FB up to 80.1 mph. SL was up to 74 mph with a max spin of 1827 rpm. CH had good action down in the zone with an avg spin of 1401 rpm.
150 pounds, a long and slender 5-11 frame. Left-handed arm with a short, fast arm and a low 3/4 arm slot. Fastball showed the ability to fill up the zone and was up 77.7 mph with some armside run and sink to it. Spun a nice curveball with depth and had the ability to move that pitch both inside and outside of the strike zone for strikes and chases. Also showed a good feel for a CH up good sink and fade to it.
5-9 130 pound lean athletic frame. On the mound shows good clean mechanics with a controlled delivery and good direction down the mound. Throwing from a H ¾ arm slot ran his FB up 74.4 mph with a max spin of 1927 rpm. Good feel for a breaking ball and CH. CB had a max spin of 2178 rpm with good downward action to it.
6-0, 170 pounds; strong and athletic. This young man demonstrated a smooth, slower delivery from a loaded preset setup. Threw with strong arm speed and a H3/4 arm slot while working down the mound well. The max fastball spin was 1686 rpm, reaching speeds of up to 82.1 mph. He threw a split finger for his off-speed that was up 76.8 mph, with an average spin of 1553 rpm, and had good diving action. Also spun a SL with a max spin of 2277 rpm while up to 76.8 mph.
6-2 165 pound long, lean athletic frame. Controlled delivery with a higher leg lift with good direction down the mound. Threw from a ¾ arm slot with good whippy arm action. 2 pitch mix on the mound with a fastball and breaking ball. Good feel for both pitches while running his FB up to 77.2 mph and a max spin of 2059 rpm. Breaking ball was up to 64.3 mph and a max spin at 2218 rpm.
6-0 175 pond strong frame with present strength. Uptempo delivery with a shorter arm swing and a H ¾ arm slot. Good life on FB while running it up to 80.5 mph and a max spin at 1947 rpm. SL showed a short late break to it while up to 71.8 mph and a max spin of 1850 rpm. Split finger was his 3rd pitch with bite to it with an avg spin at 1531 rpm.
5-9 212 pound frame. Right hander with a quick arm from a ¾ arm slot. FB showed good life to it while up to 79.1 mph and a max spin of 2221 rpm. Good feel for a CB with depth to it and up a max spin of 2305 rpm. Changeup showed good sink to it down in the zone.
5-8 145 pound lean frame with room to add on. A short arm action from a ¾ arm slot. Fastball had good sink and run to it while up to 78.5 mph and a max spin of 2060 rom. Curveball had a bigger break to it with a 1/7 break while up to 63.2 mph. Changeup had good sink and run to it with a max spin at 1760 rpm.
A 140-pound, 5-foot-10 frame with room to grow. UP to 79.9 mph, the fastball has run and sunk with spin up to 2188 rpm. Incorporates a sweeping breaking ball up to 72 mph. Both the fastball and the breaking ball are mostly worked to his glove side. With a 3/4 arm slot, the delivery moves at a quick pace. Also showed feel for a changeup with an avg spin at 2082 rpm.
6-0 170 pound athletic frame. Controlled paced delivery with an athletic arm swing from a ¾ slot. Fastball showed some good run and sink to it while running it up to 83.1 mph and a max spin at 2315 rpm. Curveball had a bigger break to it while having a 1/7 break to it and up to 68.8 mph and a max spin at 2173 rpm. Changeup was up to 71.7 mph and showing good run and sink. Has a max spin of 1405 rpm.
