Diamond Notes is a weekly compilation of notes on South Carolina players from last week.  Each week Coaches from across the state send in player notes and stats as the Prep Baseball staff is working to name a PB Player of the Week.  Prep Baseball scouts are also compiling player notes from attended games, as well as box scores from across the state.

Below we take a look at some of the top performers from the second week of the high school season. The SC Pitcher of the Week was Bradley Anderson from Fox Creek HS. Weston Mize from Crescent earned Player of the Week Honors.

Mason Burdetter, Pitcher, Irmo high, 2024

+ 13 k, 1 hit, 2 bb, 1er won game 11-1
+ 20 inn.  37 k so far.  

Peyton Dhein, P/OF, Catawba Ridge High School, 2024

+ This week - Complete Game Shutout against York: 5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K, 73 Pitches 
+ Peyton Dhein has led a strong pitching staff at Catawba Ridge.  His season stats are: 3-0 W/L, 1 Save, 18.1 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.436 WHIP, 2 BB, 35 K, Batting Avg. Against 0.094.  He is also contributing offensively, on the season he is batting .355, .444 OBP from the leadoff spot, 11 H, 6 RBI, 15 Runs Scored. 4 SB 

Tucker Meredith, LHP, Emerald HS, 2025

+ 8 Innings complete game win over Region opponent Woodruff.  3 Hits 0 ER, 2 unearned and 12 strike outs 1 walk. 
+ Tucker absolutly delt in  in a huge region match up with Woodruff.  
+ 23 innings pitched ERA 2.34 ERA 34Ks 

Iniko Barker, SS-2B, Horse Creek Academy, 2027

+ Freshman standout is 2-4 with 3 runs scored in 13-4 win at North.
+ Barker continues his amazing 2024 campaign, flashing the leather up the middle and catching consistent barrels and posting many QABs as the Stallions leadoff hitter. 
+ Slashing .562/.615/.688 with 1.303 OPS thru 11 games. 15 runs, 7 rbi, 3 XBH and 8-8 on SB. Barker is fielding 1.000% on 21 putouts and 11 assists. 

Jase Turner, Rhp/of, Horse Creek Academy, 2025

+ Picked up the win on 3/11 over North in a 13-4 road win. 5 inn, 3 hits, 1bb 9K.
+ Turner also picked up the first home win in HCA school history on 3/21 over 2023 1A-4 Region champs, Williston-Elko.  
+ 2-1, 2.57 era, 16.1 inn, 14 h, 6 bb, 22k, .222 oba, 1.22 whip 

Ty Rivers, CF, IRMO HIGH, 2026

+ Pa- 8, ab-6, 4 hits, avg .667, OBP .714, 2rbi, 2 runs, hbp
+ Ty made several great plays in the field and stole 4 bases 

Kyler Baker, Catcher, IRMO HIGH, 2027

+ Pa 8, ab 6, .500, .6250bp, 3 hits 2-2b & 3b. 1rbi, 
+ Three out 3 runners in 2 games, had 30 tc and had 30po. 1.000 fielding %

Brady Furniss - 9th grader, 2B, Camden High School, 2027

+ Only 2 games due to rainout.  He was 5-7 w/ 2 Walks, 2 Runs Scored, 2 stolen bases, and 4 RBI.
+ He was 2-3 vs. Lugoff-Elgin (lost 2-6) and was 3-4 vs. Lakewood (won 17-3) 
+ For the year he is batting .375 with 12 hits in 32 AB's, he has scored 8 runs, he's stolen 4 bases, has he has 8 RBI's.  Our team is 8-3 overall and 2-0 in Region VI-AAA
