Diamond Notes is a weekly compilation of notes on South Carolina players from last week. Each week Coaches from across the state send in player notes and stats as the Prep Baseball staff is working to name a PB Player of the Week. Prep Baseball scouts are also compiling player notes from attended games, as well as box scores from across the state.

Below we take a look at some of the top performers from the second week of the high school season. The SC Pitcher of the Week was Ayden Clay from Pendleton HS. Alex Lacoste from Hillcrest earned Player of the Week Honors.

Nate Evans, RHP/3B, Midland Valley, 2027

+ 4 IP, 1 H, 0R, 1 BB, 9K's, 0.00 ERA, 1 Win, 1 Save
+ Came on in Relief versus Irmo and Pitched last 2 innings striking out 4 for the Win. Entered the game tie at 5-5 in 7th. Won 6-5 in 8th inning. Also came on in relief versus Horse Creek with 1 run lead. Pitched final 2 innings with 5k's for the Save. Not a bad week!

+ FB was 86-88 touched 89. Slider was 76-78, change up was 80-81
+ Two games pitched total of 22 strikeouts. Only gave up one earned run.

Jeter Centracchio, Centerfield, St. James High School, 2026

+ First 5 games of his Varsity career batting .417 5 hits, 1 double. while collecting 4 loud outs
+ Has been in the 9 hole for us all 5 games carrying .462 OBP. Has had a hit in each of the last 4 games.. Thursday night had hit & sac vs New Hanover team from Wilmington. Followed that up with 2 hard hits to CF & RCenter vs Berkeley on Friday night.

Keagan Brown, MINF, St. James High School, 2024

+ Batting .462 with 19 PA while earning 5 Walks.
+ Went 3-3 with a walk Friday night vs Berkeley.
+ Batted lead off & 3 hole for us for 5 games. Hard out in the box with OBP .632. K-ed twice opening night but has put in play remaining AB's. Very selective hitter doesn't feel pressure being in 2k count
