 Buford 3       Lewisville  0

A short trip up highway 9 put two respectively ranked team in their classifications against each other. The Yellow Jackets controlled this game from the first pitch of the game. Both teams pitched well enough to win the game but Buford was able to scratch a run early in the 1st inning off a quality arm and get 2 in the 3rd to seal it. Lewisville had a chance in the top half of the 7th with bases loaded and 2 outs at the top of the order but couldn't scratch across a run. Buford was lead on the mound by Tanner Sellers who 5 Innings not giving up a run and scattering 3 hits to go along with 3 Ks. Stellar outing for Sellers to clinch a huge win for Buford as they move into a big region week next week with rival Andrew Jackson.

Austin Catledge C Buford HS 2026

Catledge had himself a huge day collecting 3 hits with 2 being doubles. Showed the power in the bat to match with the bat to ball skills. Tall/physical frame with more room to add. Tall stance that's somewhat stiff but with maturity will begin to see some more athleticism and bat speed. Behind the plate he looked solid showing good blocking and receiving skills. Pop times ranged from a 2.08-2.1 in between innings. Lot to like from this youngster has he has a bright future ahead and the possibility of putting up some big numbers this year for Buford.

Silas McFadden SS Lewisville HS 2026

Intriguing look at a young prospect from Lewisville. Has the ability to as he matures be a special player in the 1A classification. Smaller/athletic frame with average arm strength. As he builds more muscle arm strength will improve. At the next level may find himself at 2B but shows good range and quickness. At the plate has a wide balanced stance with a G2G approach. Top of the lineup bat that looks to good on base frequently. Confidence and swagger to his makeup, and showed a cool head in this game. A player to keep eyes on as he matures.

Dion Brown RHP/INF Lewisville HS 2024 Clemson Commit

Dion pounded the zone early and often. Relied on a two pitch mix with the SL being the most dominant at 76-77. Produced a lot of swing and miss on the slider making it his go to pitch in this game. Got hitters to chase the FB up in the zone as the FB stayed around 85-87. Produced soft contact on balls in play, however his defense misplayed them causing some traffic for him. Was able to get out of some jams by getting swing and miss and racking up 7Ks over his short 3 inning appearance. At the plate produced some loud contact, but couldn't find an alley to split. Confidence at the plate and the mound and has good speed as well.
