Warriors Close Out Indian Land in NC/SC Matchup

No. 14 Weddington hosted Indian Land HS on Monday night.  The interstate matchup is something that is always interesting as NC and SC battle it out. Weddington used single runs in each of their 1st three at-bats to build a 3-2 lead after 3 innings of play.  The Warriors looked to break the game open in the bottom of the 4th, seeing the 1st three hitters of the inning reach via base hit. The 3rd hit, a bunt single on a safety squeeze from Brando Kuenne, pushed the lead to 4-2.  Kuenne would later score on an errant throw on a pick-off attempt at 3B.Indian Land would make a push in the 6th to get back in the game. The 3rd single of the inning came from Logan Sulli, loading the bases with 1 out. Two errors led to 3 runs plated and closing the score to 6-5.In the 7th, Mavrik Schrock was on to close it out for Weddington.  Indian Land put two on to leadoff the inning on a walk and single from Emerson Rhoades.  Sac bunt pushed both runners to scoring position. Schrock went to work getting a strikeout and pop-up to end the affair, a 6-5 win for Weddington.
