No. 2 Brother Rice 22, Loyola 4
Jack Guzek went 3-for-3 with six RBI and was one of four Crusaders to homer in the rout. Guzek added two doubles and Mike Massey, Ryan Kutt and Pat Mayo also hit longballs. Andy Lopez went 3-for-3 in the victory.

No. 5 St. Charles North 5, Geneva 1
Brendan Joyce
went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Jack Lambert allowed a run on four hits in six innings, striking out six and walking none.

No. 7 Plainfield North 6, Oswego East 2
Josh Garner
pitched a three-hitter and did not allow an earned run in the victory. Garner also had two RBI and Justin Yeager had three hits for North.

No. 22 Jacobs 7, No. 8 Providence 5
Kraeton Moll
went 3-for-3 with three runs and Mike Addante had two RBI as Jacobs reversed its recent slide with a victory over the defending Class 4A champ. Brendan Demkovich allowed three hits in five innings, Evan Liebau got the win in relief and Jeff Anders pitched a perfect seventh for the save.

No. 12 Normal Community 11, Richwoods 8
Hayden Stoewer, Jake McCaw
and Addison Fugitt hit home runs for the Ironmen. J.D. Villafuerte went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs in the victory.

No. 13 Naperville Central 6, Wheaton Warrenville South 0
Charlie Walzer
struck out 11 in a three-hitter, walking just one. Ryan Eiermann went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBI in the victory.

No. 16 Nazareth 10, Benet 6
Carson Bartels
and Will McKenna each went 3-for-4 as the Roadrunners out-slugged Benet for the second day in a row. Cesar De La Cerda went 2-for-2 and stole three bases for Nazareth. Dan Sobollewski doubled twice and had five RBI for Benet.

Oak Forest 2, No. 18 Lemont 1
Damon Czarnecki
had an RBI double and scored on a double steal as Oak Forest broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the top of the eighth. Mike Edwards came out on top of a pitchers duel with Lemont’s Nate Madej. Edwards allowed an unearned run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks in 7⅔, and Frank Bewley got the final out for the save. Madej allowed an unearned run on three hits with nine strikeouts and three walks in 7⅓.

Neuqua Valley 6, No. 21 Joliet Catholic 3
Will Drake, Kevin Ringlein
and Eric Nelson had two hits apiece and winning pitcher James Kulak limited the JCA attack to two earned runs on six hits in five innings. Mason LeBreck allowed one hit in the final two innings for the save.

Minooka 4, No. 23 Plainfield South 0
Brad Van Asdlen
pitched a no-hitter for Minooka. He struck out seven and walked five. Hayden Laczynski had an RBI single and a run as Minooka made the most of its three hits with two runs in the third and two in the fourth.

Marist 3, Marian Catholic 2
Colin Meehan singled, stole second and scored on Kevin Sefcik’s single in the bottom of the ninth as Marist recorded its second one-run victory over Marian in as many days. Jack Snyder allowed two hits in eight innings and Colin Pfotenhauer pitched the ninth for the win.

Mundelein 2, Stevenson 1
Brendan Murphy
pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts to out-duel Stevenson’s Justin Stark. Murphy also belted two doubles for half of the Mustangs’ four hits off Stark, who struck out five and walked none.

Warren 5, ZIon-Benton 0
Ryan Davila
struck out eight in five innings of one-hit ball for Warren. He also went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

Lake Forest 9, Lake Zurich 3
Matthew Pearson
struck out 14 in six innings of three-hit ball for the Scouts.

Vernon Hills 6, Lakes 3
Brennan Reback
went 3-for-3 and scored the go-ahead run on Tommy Earhart’s double in the three-run seventh inning. Joe Rangel struck out seven in four innings and had two hits and two RBI for Vernon Hills.

Deerfield 2, Glenbrook North 0
Zach Shultan
pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts and one walk and Leigh Rubin gave him the lead with an RBI single in the third inning.

Maine South 7, Niles West 5
P.J. Teahen
and Nick Cecela had four hits and five runs between them for the Hawks. Austin Mose drove in two.

New Trier 10, Waukegan 0
Dylan Horvitz
went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and four RBI and Ben Brecht struck out seven in three innings for the Trevians.

Barrington 6, Palatine 0
Brooks Gosswein
and Ryan Loutos pitched a combined three-hitter with 14 strikeouts for the Broncos. Loutos struck out nine in 4⅓ innings. Jimmy Day homered and had three RBI.

Conant 12, Fremd 5
Jimmy Brady
had two hits, two RBI and two runs and Conant scored six in the third and six in the fourth after Fremd jumped out to a 5-0 lead. Charlie Kaye homered and doubled for Fremd.

Buffalo Grove 8, Rolling Meadows 3
Chase Marsh
homered and Joey Pinakidis went 3-for-3 with two RBI and four runs for the Bison.

McHenry 6, Grant 1
Nick Lahrman
allowed just one hit in six innings and Bobby Miller hit two home runs for McHenry.

Plainfield Central 5, Plainfield East 3
Winning pitcher Brandon Callender went the distance and had two hits for Central. He struck out eight and allowed three earned runs on eight hits. Drew DeMumbrum had three hits and two RBI for East.

Oswego 12, Romeoville 3

Cody Peterlin had three of Oswego’s 13 hits.

Bremen 10, Blue Island Eisenhower 0
Mike Fuentes
pitched a six-inning no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks. He also drove in two runs. Collin Brown and Matt Woods had two doubles apiece for Bremen.

Oak Lawn 11, Evergreen Park 10
Justin Swatek’s
bases-loaded walk capped a five-run seventh inning and gave Oak Lawn the walk-off victory. Patrick Slattery went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI for Oak Lawn.

Monticello 1, St. Thomas More 0
Tyler Jones
and winning pitcher Cam Wittig combined for 21 strikeouts in the 11-inning victory. Garrett Myers won it for Monticello with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th. Jones struck out 14 in seven innings of four-hit ball.

Reed-Custer 3, Peotone 0
Jordan Walden
pitched a two-hitter and went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the victory. Travis Schoonover went 3-for-3 with a home run for Reed-Custer.

Rantoul 3, Unity 1
Brady Graybill’s
two-run double in the top of the eighth inning made a winner of Keegan Brooks, who pitched all eight innings, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out seven.

Pontiac 4, Normal University 3
Tony Krominga
drove in two runs, including the tie-breaking RBI single in the three-run bottom of the fifth for Pontiac.

Oak Park 5, Hinsdale Central 2
Connor Nelson
and Evan Bell had two hits apiece for the Huskies. Jack McMullen allowed an earned run on seven hits in 6⅓ innings to earn the win.

Morton (Cicero) 11, Downers Grove South 3
Christian Villagomez
pitched a two-hitter and struck out six in the complete-game victory. Santino Novakowski and James Chavez had two hits and two RBI for Morton.

Waubonsie Valley 5, Metea Valley 2
Jacob Hennessy
went the distance, allowing two unearned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks for the victory. Jason Neville had two hits, scored two runs and had a run-scoring single for Waubonsie.

Naperville North 6, Glenbard North 5
Matt Schwartz
went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Naperville North scored six runs in the top of the first and held on.

Lake Park 9, Wheaton North 3
Connor Cook
struck out 10 in six innings and went 3-for-4 for the Lancers.

St. Charles East 7, Larkin 1
Max Breidigan
allowed four hits in six innings, striking out five and walking one. Monty Carbonelli had three hits for the Saints.

Michael Sebby
struck out eight in six scoreless innings of two-hit ball and broke it open with a grand slam as the Rams scored six runs in the top of the seventh.

pitched a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts and two walks and went 2-for-4 for Streamwood.

walk-off single made a winner of Angelo Smith, struck out 11 in the complete-game victory.

Matt Mier
went 3-for-3 and Phillip Westerfield allowed four hits in six innings for Tri-Valley.

Matt O’Sullivan
had two hits, three RBI and three runs for Kaneland.

Jake Smith
pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and John Belskis had three hits for ACC.
