Coming in at the #1 spot in the PBR Arizona Preseason High School Rankings is the Hamilton Huskies. The Huskies are the reigning 6A State Champions where they beat the 6 seeded Chandler Wolves by a score of 11-1. The Huskies are without a doubt bringing back one of… If not the best offense in the state. Leading the charge for the Huskies are shortstop Roch Cholowsky (UCLA), third baseman Ryan Kucherak (LSU), and INF/OF Josh Tiedemann (TCU). All three have recently been named Preseason All American by National Baseball Magazine, and for good reason. In Cholowsky’s junior season he hit .357 with 7 doubles, 1 triple and 2 home runs. Third baseman Kucherak hit .352 with 6 doubles, 2 triples, 7 home runs and a whopping 28 rbi’s. Tiedemann, who was the team leader in average hitting .371 in 2022 had 7 doubles, 1 triple, 8 home runs and 27 rbi’s. Tiedemann will also be one of the top 3 arms for the Huskies. He is joined by Arizona commits Will Shelor and Carson Johnson. Doing the catching for the Huskies will be junior Harvard commit Liam Wilson. Wilson is the 24th ranked prospect in the 2024 class and was a participant at this past summers Future Games. Alongside Cholowsky up in the middle will likely be returning second baseman and New Mexico commit Cooper Brass. Brass was a stand out at this past falls West Coast Games where he went 2-3 with a triple against a loaded Colorado team. At first base it will likely be senior TCU commit Zach Wadas. Wadas was a stand out at this past falls Area Code Games. In his 2022 campaign Wadas hit .268 with 5 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs and 21 rbi’s. Some players to keep an eye on this spring for the Huskies are 2026 grad Benjamin Ball (Arizona) and 2025 grad Cole Berge. Both prospects attended our Underclass Preseason All State Games and were major standouts amongst the rest of the group. The Arizona staff looks forward to covering the Huskies this season as they look to repeat for the state title in 2023.
