The Prep Baseball Arizona High School Player of the Week highlights the best performance for an Arizona High School positional player from the previous week.  Each week, High School coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week, along with our scouting staff attending games and scouring box scores throughout the week.  If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please email Arizona Scouting Director, Shea Sbranti.

To begin each week, Prep Baseball Arizona will announce it's Pitcher and Player of the Week, alongside our Power 25 Rankings Update, from the previous Monday-Sunday games. '24 INF Gavin Smith (Basha) takes home Player of the Week honors this week following his four HR week, highlighted by a walk-off HR against

2024 INF Gavin Smith (Harvard commit) had his power on display all week long, blasting four home runs that helped lead Basha to four wins in as many days including a massive win over top-ranked Casteel. Smith came through the biggest swing of the season for the Bears as he hit a walk-off blast to close out the game against Casteel which has propelled Basha to No. 3 in our Power 25 Rankings. Smith is one of the top-ranked senior infielders in Arizona and is looking the part early on this year.
