#12 Horizon 10 vs. #13 Centennial 5

In a highly anticipated matchup between #12 Horizon and #13 Centennial, two high-level 5A schools clashed in a tight contest that unfolded after five innings. Ultimately, Horizon surged ahead in the later stages of the game, securing 4 late runs in the 6th and 7th innings.

Nathan Carrillo, a St. Peter’s commit, was the standout of the day, going 3-4 at the plate and launching a majestic home run over the left field wall in the top of the 7th. Carrillo, making his first start on the mound for the season, showcased his potential as the workhorse for the Huskies with an upper 80’s fastball with quality command in the zone.

Another notable performance came from outfielder and Pima commit Quintin Hennesy, who went 3-5 with 2 RBI, proving to be a pivotal player for the Huskies. Hennesy stands out as one of the top outfielders in Arizona's senior class showing good foot speed on both sides of the ball and a solid glove.

On the Centennial side, freshman Bobby Villa, the #2 prospect, continued his impressive form, hitting his first high school home run over the right field wall. Villa's combination of a high-level glove, plus-speed, and offensive prowess positions him as a rising star in the 2027 class. Villa was a standout at last years Junior Futures Games in Georgia and in this springs Preseason All-State Games.

With the solid starts for both programs both Horizon and Centennial showcased their potential to make a deep run in the AIA playoffs, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
