The 12th annual Future Games took place on July 26-29 at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia. Top uncommitted prospects in the classes of 2025 and 2026 participated in one of the most popular events of the year.

There were 32 teams, including Team Canada, with players representing 44 states plus Canadian prospects. Each team played three games the final three days of the event after all position players were put through a showcase workout on Wednesday. More than 375 college coaches from across the country were looking on as approximately 500 players participated in this year’s event.

Team Ohio went 1-1-1, defeating Team Connecticut on Thursday, tying Team Massachusetts on Friday, while losing to Team New York on Saturday.

The Arms

Shane Brinham LHP / OF / Handsworth, BC / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 7 / POS: 1 Report: Despite not having the upper 80s velocity of some of our other arms, Brinham drew significant interest from college coaches due to his left-handedness, high-spin stuff and way he moves on the mound. Some projection in there at 6-0, 160lbs and his three-pitch mix kept hitters off balance during his start. Spins both the FB and CB at 2500+. Has established himself as one of BC's top 2025 arms.

Austin Collins RHP / RHP / Foothills Composite, AB / 2025 Report: Collins got the ball in relief during Game One and impressed over three innings of work. Clean arm with athleticism and composure. Fastball sat 86-88mph and the changeup was the best secondary offering, getting several swings and misses. Three-pitch mix, with advanced feel for two of them, along with his ability to locate allow him to excel on the mound.

Ben Goodacre RHP / Ancaster, ON / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 3 / POS: 1 Report: Goodacre got the start in Game One for Canada and while it wasn't the best stat line we've seen from him, the high-spin FB, along with his size and way he moves on the mound garnered interest from coaches in attendance. 6-3, 170lbs and the FB (85-88) generates whiffs when working up in the zone. Intriguing overall package on the mound and some mechanical adjustments will allow him to trend even higher.

William Labonte RHP / Okotoks Dawgs Academy, AB / 2026 Report: Labonte got the ball in Game Two and the 5-10, 170lb right-hander worked up to 89.8mph. It sat 87-88mph and he has the ability to manipulate it, getting it to cut or sink which allows him to consistently miss barrels and induce weak contact. Also flashed a high-spin breaker (2650+) with depth and vertical action. One of just two 2026 arms on our pitching staff and has established himself as a top 2026 arm in the country.

Robert Scalzo RHP / Lambrick Park, BC / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 2 / POS: 1 Report: 6-1, 200lb right-hander with a three-pitch mix (FB/CB/CH). FB sat 85-88 T89 and was working the edges of the plate. Also showed feel for both his secondary offerings and kept hitters guessing at the plate. Worked two strong innings and the velocity continues to trend upwards for the BC native.

Lucas St-Laurent RHP / 2B / Ecole Okotoks, AB / 2026 Report: The youngest arm on Canada's roster and has plenty of growing to come at 5-11, 160lbs. FB sat 84-87mph with three secondary offerings (CB/SL/CH). Up-tempo delivery with some deception and generates swing/miss when working up in the zone. Highly intriguing arm with his best days ahead of him.

Alex Uher RHP / USS, ON / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 10 / POS: 3 Report: Uher has proven to be one of the most efficient 2025 arms in Ontario this summer and flashed that at the Future Games. Smaller stature on the mound at 5-9, 170lbs with a quick arm and strike-throwing abilities. FB sat 87-90mph and pairs it with a slider at 78-79, with both pitches playing well off eachother. It was a quality two-innings from Uher and he wasn't fazed under the bright lights.

The Two-Way Prospects

Josiah Romeo SS / RHP / Mayfield Secondary School, ON / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 1 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 344 / POS: 73 Report: Romeo was our main attraction among the arms and had the complex buzzing as he took the mound. The fastball sat 90-92mph early on before settling in at 88-90mph. The heavy FB pairs well with the SL 76-80mph and tunnels the two. Generated several whiffs during three strong innings of work. Big-time arm that showed well on the big stage. Also swung the bat throughout the week where there's upside with the size, but the mound where will be where he makes his money.

Adyn Schell 3B / RHP / Martingrove CI, ON / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 3 / POS: 1 Report: Schell was the only player to play a position and also pitch. Flashes equal upside both on the mound and on the positional side. Size and strength at 6-4, 200lbs and swings it well from the left-side with bat speed. The right-handed pitcher worked one inning and there was plenty to like, sitting 84-88mph and generating in-zone whiffs on the slider.

The Catchers

Benjamin Kautto C / OF / Western Technical Commercial, ON / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 7 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 374 / POS: 46 Report: Kautto has been on our radar for some time now and continues to flash upside on both sides of the ball. Proportionate frame at 5-11, 190lbs and has the ability to find the barrel left-side, generating plenty of hard contact through the week with multiple hits, including a triple. Threw out three runners thanks to his quick actions behind the plate with 1.88 pop-times. Well-rounded game and continues to stand out every time he steps on a big stage.

Lukas Le Gras C / 3B / Lambrick Park, BC / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 4 / POS: 1 Report: Le Gras caught four runners in his 10 innings behind the dish, thanks to his 1.88 in-game pop-times. Projectable frame at 5-foot-11, 165-pounds and has a quick-twitch barrel that led to some hard hits and hard outs against high-level arms. Le Gras’ bat accelerates through the zone and allows him to work gap-to-gap with ease. Beyond his physical traits, the Victoria Eagles product manages his pitchers well and it was evident that he’s able to slow the game down back there.

The Infielders

Justin Boisjoly SS / 2B / TNXL Academy, FL / 2026 Report: One of the younger players on the team and still a little undersized at 5-10, 160lbs. It's the glove and defending at SS that really catches your eye right now and the left-handed bat will continue to trend upwards as he begins to fill out and add strength.

Philip Cheong SS / 2B / Bill Crothers, ON / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 2 / POS: 1 Report: Cheong took home Player of the Game in our first matchup with a pair of hits, including a double. Small stature 5-10, 165lbs but there's quick twitch and tools across the board. Ran a 6.45, was up to 87mph on both the infield and outfield and produced 98.2mph exit velocity. Game-changing speed, moves well around the bases and has bat-to-ball skills. Quality showing from Cheong who will be able to return to the event next year.

Owen Gregg SS / 2B / Appleby College, ON / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 9 / POS: 3 Report: Versatile defender on the infield who played every single position on the dirt throughout the week. Confident with the glove and has good feet with 82mph arm across the diamond. Also ran a 7.00 60-yard. Gap-to-gap approach and utilizes the entire field, generating 91mph exit velocity. Tools may not have been as loud as others on the team but does a lot of things right on the field and is the type of player who helps you win games by executing the small things.

Jordan Jacob 3B / SS / Bill Crothers, ON / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 2 Report: Jordan Jacob was the big winner on Showcase Day for Canada and his strength at the dish caught LakePoint's attention. Present strength from the right-side at 6-1, 198lbs and generated 99.5mph exit velocity (90.2 avg) and distance of 376ft (288ft avg). Hit balls hard throughout the week but didn't have a ton to show for it. A power bat in Ontario who should garner plenty of interest going forward.

Joey Marino SS / 2B / Fleetwood Park Secondary, BC / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 1 / POS: 1 Report: Marino is a quality defender up the middle with the ability to handle the corner, as well. Wide and balanced setup from the right-side with a bat path that allows him to hit the ball hard to all fields. Came through on Friday night with a loud double to the backside gap. BC's top-ranked 2025 prospect.

Robert Omidi SS / 3B / St. Martin Secondary, ON / 2027 Report: Being a 2027, Omidi is the first underage player we brought to the Future Games and he did not dissapoint. Omidi impressed on Scout Day with his advanced left-handed bat and had college coaches wanting to see more. Carried that momentum into Game One with a two-run double and multiple hard-hit balls.

Timothy Piasentin SS / 3B / Dr. Charles Best, BC / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 14 / POS: 3 Report: Immediately stands out with his size at 6-3, 190lbs and moves well with a 6.80 60-yard. Good range up the middle with his length and quickness and was up to 84mph across the diamond. Flashed some juice at the dish during batting practice with a 95mph exit velocity and 365ft distance.

The Outfielders

Quinn Carson OF / St. Ignatius of Loyola CSS, ON / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 6 / POS: 2 Report: Quinn Carson was one of our main attractions heading to LakePoint and his coming out party came during Game Two with a two-run shot off the scoreboard in LCF. Tons to like in the frame at 6-3, 195lbs and comes with plenty of tools. Ran a 6.83 on Workout Day, was up to 88mph from the outfield and produced a 96mph exit velocity. Has quickly turned himself into one of the top outfielders in Canada's 2025 class.

Landon Kauffman OF / LHP / Okotoks Dawgs Academy, BC / 2025 Report: Kauffman showed well on Showcase Day and had all his tools on display, showcasing his well-rounded game. Ran a 6.77 60-yard, was up to 89mph from the outfield and produced 94.2mph exit velocity. Defends well in the corner outfield spots with arm strength.

Ryan Stalony OF / Loyola Catholic, ON / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 2 / POS: 1 OverallRank: 373 / POS: 61 Report: Stalony is now a two-time Future Gamer and his game has really trended upwards since last summer's event. Quality defender in the outfield with a good first step, arm strength (90mph) and runs well with a 6.62 60-yard. 6-1, 190lbs and the strength plays at the dish with a 96mph exit velocity and 360ft distance. Came through with a pair of hits during the week and has the ability to hit to all fields.
